11D - Fit to size. I wear them on a farm and they take a beating, but are very durable. They have no visible damage or tears from the daily work grind. They regularly get muddy and clean up easily after drying, with water and a light brush. They are so light I jogged in them to prep for a hiking trip. They fit my feet like comfortable gloves and the traction is very good.. I have no complaints, these are a great value, and I am glad I bought these.

My husband loves these. They fit him great (they’re true to size) and they’re durable. They’re super lightweight too.

It's pretty new to me/ I only have about 80 miles on this boot so far. It's light enough. It's gore tex lined so it's both water proof and a little less cool/breathable than I like. I do like the arch support The ankle support is good for me.The toe box is just big enough. I don't like the insole that came with it, but my instep is high enough that a a thicker cushion wont fit with my foot .. My only real complaint is the laces are slippery enough that it is difficult to tie I will amend this after 250 miles or so..

As a Facility Maintenance Director for our local college, I PUT SOME MILES ON MY FOOTWEAR. (5-7hrs a day) I'm here to tell you that these are the REAL DEAL. I have been through dozens and dozens of various "high-end" boots looking for something that would hold up for 12 months and retain their weatherproofing throughout the entire year. (Merrell, North Face, Keen, Carolina, Red-Wing, ect.) Have ALL came up short in one category or another. I had gotten do a point where I did not so even care about the price, I just wanted a quality pair of comfortable working footwear! I don't write reviews often, as rarely are my expectations met so easily. I'M HERE TO TELL YOU..... These have met ALL of those expectations and after 6 months of putting these through everything from rain & snow to mud & 6" water in aflooded basement... THESE HAVE SIMPLY EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS I could have for my footwear! If you are looking for a LIGHTWEIGHT, WATERPROOF & DURABLE boot.... THIS IS THEM.

I love these boots! I hate these boots! My Salomon Men's X Ultra 4 are light weight, supportive, waterproof (eh, let's call them water resistant), and have great tread design. What's not to like? Well, they caused the toenail of my left big toe to fall off, for one! You see, although they are comfortable, the toe box is too narrow. I usually wear a men's US size 9 E. I read on Amazon that they tend to be a little narrow, so I ordered the size 9.5 Wide. I wore them around the house for a couple of days when they arrived, and, except for snugness around my big toes, they seemed to fit fine (they'll break in, right?). They also were comfortable hiking uphill. However, I found that a considerable amount of weight was directed to my big toes when hiking downhill. When I got home, I noted substantial bruising to my left big toe that soon turned my nail black. It looked worse than it felt, but the nail fell off about a month later. I still wear the boots when the terrain isn't hilly. But, these Salomon's aren't the all terrain boots that I thought I was buying.

AMAZING. I have used these boots through all elements and terrains and they have not failed me nor gotten a hole. They have great traction and durability! The price is a bargain with how good they perform! They also provide good ankle support if you tie them correctly.

I previously purchased a pair of X-Ultra 4 low and was extremely happy with the waterproof ability of the shoes. If I can get reliable waterproof for a year out of a shoe I am satisfied and will contonue to buy this brand. Although these started leaking after 8 months, it was due to my toenail wearing a hole in the waterproof bootie so I can't fault the shoes. Decided to buy the much more expensive mid height shoe of the same model for even more waterproof protection (i.e. higher waterproof booty protection). Unfortunately, before reaching 2 months of use, my small toe began getting sock wet on one shoe. Rest of my sock was dry so water had to penetrate from that side of shoe. I can find no wear in that area that would result in leaking so must be a quality flaw in the waterproof bootie. Now I am hassled with trying to see if Salomon will honor a warrantee claim and probably have to pay to ship the shoes. Depending on Salomon response, I will consider what brand shoe to replace these with.
