"Writer's Digest" Sourcebook for Building Believable Characters

There is a short section at the beginning of the book with tips from bestselling authors and a questionnaire you can use to create your characters, but this is not a "How to create characters" book. It's a thesaurus with lists of character traits (eye colour, hair style, etc.), words you can use to describe your character's clothes and even behaviour. It's fantastic! Whether you're stuck while you create your characters or are searching for the right description while you are writing, this book is a wonderful source of inspiring examples.

Over the years, I've bought three of these books, all identical. One got stuffed into storage, second one got donated to the school library where I work because the students were constantly borrowing it. Third will forever be on my desk. They can't have it!

I love this book. it had helped me to bring my characters to life is the best ways possible. Plus a descriptive thesaurus for any action, emotion, and everything in betwee.

I recently purchased this book, and it's wonderful. The questionaire is amazing, and really helpful to a basic character profile. The book isnt perfect, but it doenst claim to be a thesaurus and if it was it would be a lot bigger. This book gives you the general idea. It cant do the work for you, just help and it does so greatly. Come ready with an idea in mind and a thesaurus to help you along the way. I would recommend to a friend over and over again.
