Acer Aspire 7 A715-42G 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop (AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, NVIDIA GTX 1650, Full HD Display, Windows 10, Black)

So far working very well ! Good for games and work

I bought this laptop as an everyday Uni laptop that can handle some gaming as well at a reasonable price.Firstly, the design is very nice, whilst being plastic it maintains a high quality feel. The keys feel tactile and premium. Whilst the bezels are larger than some other laptops, they are slim enough to not give the impression of a cheap laptop.In term of performance it feels snappy and responsive at any task I give it and runs all the games I play at above 60fps. The only problem I have is that it tends to heat up quite easily making extended gaming sessions tricky. I would often find it would close the games as it was getting too hot for it (after a few hours), and this is for fairly standard games like CSGO but this a consistent problem for all gaming laptops so I wouldn't single this laptop out. In fact this laptop does have very capable cooling but I would still definitely reccomend getting a cooling pad if you plan on using this for gaming. After buying one of these it seemed to handle games with no problems.Also as a side note, this is advertised as having a 1650 Ti gpu however checking the system details, it says it's running a 1650 however there is apparently no significant difference between them. A second side note is that the Amazon listing is somewhat inconsistent, the laptop is running a 5500U processor and does have a fingerprint scanner.The battery life is average. It will certainly see me through a couple of hours of work (I would guess 5) but any more than that and I would trust it. Definitely not 10 hours as advertised but I never expected as much.Overall I would say its performance is excellent for the price point and it's gaming capability will be satisfactory for most medium heavy gamers.

I did a test with the GPU-Z today after I got the laptop. It shows the GTX1650 of the GDDR6 version in the laptop, not the GTX1650Ti. It also says GTX1650 on the outside package. If you are a buyer of a 1650Ti, be careful.

The media could not be loaded. First and last time buying Acer laptop.4 months and it broke. No damage was done to it, but looks like some malfunction in motherboard. Black screen, ports don't work (USB, hdmi and others) while keyboardlights up. I bought many laptops of amazon before and the once that I used were dropped quite a few times and never had malfunction or break.Send for repair and it worked for 1 day and same issue happened. Send it to Acer second time..If issue gets fixed might change rating, as I do understand manufacturing defects happen.Reason why I'm so annoyed is because I bought it for my niece who escaped war from Ukraine and needs this laptop to study.

Good laptop overall, the only thing is that you can't add another ssd or hdd otherwise it would've gotten 5 stars.
