Shoyeido's Avenue of the Villa Incense, 80 Sticks - Nijo

gorgeous scent. probably my favorite of all right now. love the small size & the minimalist holder that comes with. this brand is everything i hoped for when i was looking for incense.

This incense is the same as the coils but it has a shorter burning time because a coil is much longer. But if you look at them both price wise you come out about the same. When I go into my drawer I find myself going for these more often than my coils. Due to the fact that they're shorter, I feel like I can use them more casually because I'm using less and the burn time is shorter. Often times, I'd have to get up and break the coil to stop it from burning because I wanted to save it. Now I don't have to do that. My only issue with them is when you do burn them in the holder provided the very bottom of the stick gets snuffed out and you are left with a small piece of incense about a few mm long. I end up saving these and just burn them all at once but I wish I did not have to do that. With regard to the other review "scentless" they must not have a sense of smell. You can smell it all over the house.

This was my first incense from shoyeido. The scent is very sweet and nice and smells natural. I have tried all their incense lines and this is second only to their premium ones but for the price these have more value. They are great introduction into high quality Japanese incense specially that they are sweet with very nice herbal notes. The smell is very nice and lingers a while. Highly recommended.

The coil burns for right at 2 hours, I have timed them numerous times. When the coils burn in the front room I can smell them in my bedroom about 75 feet away (that's called a scents throw distance). These burn for about 17 minutes (not the advertised 20 minutes) and when I burn them in my front room I can only smell them from the other side of my front room and no further, so about 30 feet. They smell exactly the same as the coil they just throw allot less distance and they burn for less time than advertised. Total burn time for the whole box is 1360 minutes, which is still longer than the total burn time for the coil box 1200 minutes but with the throw being not even half that your losing money. Abandoning the sticks and going back to the coil, they cost less and I can just break them up into pieces to burn for shorter times as needed.

This is not low smoke incense, oh my gosh! So much smoke. I think the smell of this incense is great. It smells like a quality incense. It didn’t burn for a long time but with the amount of smoke it produced you wouldn’t want this to burn for much longer. I think it’s a good value for the money. I could see this incense selling for more money in a store.

Love love love. These are the premium brand of my favorite incense. The scent is deep and relaxing. Quality, as always - excellent.

I like this better than the coils. It's not as long of a burn, but I prefer that when I don't want incense burning for 1-2 hours like the coils. I'm really glad they started making these small sticks. The burn on this incense is much cleaner than most and the fragrance is lighter. Smells a little similar to baby powder, but much lighter, and more floral. I don't know if you've ever compared Japanese perfume to American ones, but usually the scent is not as heavy. This incense is the same way. (sorry if that's not the best description) A lot of people I know who don't like incense don't mind this one when I burn it.

Discovered this incense in Japan. Loved it so much had to order it on Amazon. Gorgeous odour and not smoky. I burn it on the third floor and the smell wafts down to the rest of the house. A bit pricey but well worth it!!
