Perfect for my saltwater fishing.

I have decided to fish dead stick (rod in holder), while doing maintenance chores such as cutting bait and chumming. These circle hooks do fairly well hooking fish under these conditions as when the fish tries to swim away the fish hook's himself. The hooks I have received have been made in China but seem to be quality hooks.. They remain sharp after a day of fishing for Blackfish, as I suspect the sharply turned in point is not likely to be subjected to being point loaded into say something like a moss covered rock.It is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to resharpen these hooks properly with conventional hones as the turned in point prevents such.I have caught 10 pound blackfish without issue, using a size 3/0 hook but would recommend a larger size only since the typical bait used for blackfish are crabs and the small gap space inhibits one from easily placing the bait on the hook.I probably would have given it a five star rating if cost was not one of my considerations.

These are awesome hooks for catfish about 20lbs and down. I use larger when I'm after 20lb+ flathead, but these are amazing for channels in the 5-20lb range. And in 25 packs they are great priced. I use these circle 1's with 30lb braid in some locked drag situations without a single broken hook. Perfect for chunks of cut bait or smallish live bait, 4" live bait or less I'd say. These are my go-to.

Extremely good value for the price. The local landing tackle shops sell the same hooks in an 8 pack for 15.00. Let's see, 25 hooks for 11.00...no brainer there. The hooks work well with live sardines as well as anchovy bait. It takes a little while to get used to "not setting the hook" as opposed with standard J hooks. Instead of swinging on a bite, just reel and the hook naturally slides to the corner of the mouth of the fish. This is important when dealing with toothy tuna who use mono and flouro like sun rotten dental floss.

Buy these at the store and am usually happy with them. This batch came pretty dull. Not sure if it was just bad luck or what, but may just go back to store products.

Excellent offset circle hooks, I bought the 2x size 3/0, the only reason I rated 3* is that they are quite small , almost the size of 2/0 eagle claw's, building the bait below the hook will work fine, (dingle dangle) type, it's popular South African method of fishing with circle hooks
