Q: Big enough to water a horse with?

Probably not. A horse would probably drain it in a couple of seconds and then proceed to chew on it! Nice to carry water from one site to another when camping but that is about it.

Q: Will this bucket stand alone when half full while on the ground eg asphalt, dirt, cement?

It will stand on its own when half full

Q: Does the bucket hold its shape when being used? Lot of these fold over and let the water run out.

Do not believe these other reviews, they are not telling the truth. I own this collapsible bucket, and put water in it, to rinse my bathtub, and the shape folds down and the runs out. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM.
