Can I use with the rubber grip to stop blade bending when I need a straight line?

One of the straight blades is intended to be flexible, the other straight blade is quite rigid. I don't find the rubber grip helps stop the flexible blade bending, but the rigid blade is stiff enough to cut a straight line if needed.
