I got my first Platinum pen about 30 years ago when I was in Tokyo and they have been my favourites since that time. The nibs on these pens are different from the Carbon Ink pen and are equally pleasing. In contrast to the Carbon Ink pen, the body of the pen is a little wider and the cap more robust. These are primarily desk pens, not really designed for fitting in a pocket due to their length of almost 7.5". I equipped mine with refillable cartridges for the sake of economy though cartridges are available. They write very smoothly for a pen at this price point. I recommend this pen for not-absolute-beginners because the nib is fine and the balance is different due to the shape and length. These (I have 2) are better than my Lamy Safari and much more budget conscious.

Trait extrêmement fin qui enregistre toutes les vibrations de la main, encre Carbon ink à prévoir, bien noire, imperméable et bien brilante. Laissé tout l'été dans sa boîte et toujours pas bouché à la rentrée. Glisse bien sur du papier très lisse type bristol. Addictif ! Fini les Rotring.
