Julbo Aero Sunglass

First off, my review is not of the seller who was a third party seller. They shipped the correct product and shipped it quickly. No complaints.I ordered the Reactiv 1-3 Light Amplifying lenses. I prefer effective sunglasses that run on the lighter tints as I can see more when in darker environments like the woods. The photochromatic properties intrigued me and I thought would be the perfect option for me. From my limited test of the glasses (just wearing them outside and looking close to the sun) the lenses did darken a bit to a comfortable level for me and I think would have been 100% for what I am looking for. The lens clarity was also very good and probably the best non glass material clarity I have seen. I have many brands of sunglasses and have had a lot over time. However, there was one issue and I would nearly say a design flaw.The lenses come with a mirror-ish coating that is in the same line as the iridium that Oakley has, but less intense. It actually looks quite good. It seems as if that coating might actually be on the inside or some other coating is producing a massive amount of glare on the inside of the lenses. It is actually hard to tell because you can see the colors on the inside when you hold them and look at it and I was having a hard time believing that it was coming from the front side of the lenses. However, in my head I cannot imagine that Julbo would do that and I kept scratching my head. When I first stepped outside and tried them, I kept thinking that they were smudged. Whatever is on the inside, it is really distracting. It seems worse in low light and slightly better in more light and the least noticeable in more light with a baseball cap on (preventing light from the top). I tend to run a lot in wooded areas and I could not imagine that I would ever get used to that glare.This is a real bummer. I really liked these glasses and I think they were almost exactly the pair that I have been looking for. The one sport glasses to rule them all in all conditions. Unfortunately, that one issue was the deal breaker. I will say that I will continue to look at Julbo glasses as the Reactiv lenses seemed to work well with my limited testing.

Das Konzept der selbsttönenden Brillen ist neu für mich und so war ich auf diese Brille sehr gespannt. Beim auspacken war ich zunächst sehr erstaunt, wie hell/durchsichtig das Glas zunächst ist, wenn es aus dem dunklen Etui kommt: Das Glas ist nur minimal getönt / fast komplett klar. Sobald man die Brille jedoch der Sonne aussetzt, fangen die Gläser an sich langsam stärker zu tönen. Der Prozess ist schleichend und braucht seine Zeit - so dauert es mehrere Minuten bis die Brille richtig dunkel ist und ebensolange, bis sie wieder hell ist. Bei maximaler Tönung ist die Brille fast verspiegelt / die Augen des Trägers lassen sich nur noch erahnen.Mein Geplanter Einsatzzweck: Joggen (überwiegend im Wald), Radtouren und auch mal als "Sonnenbrille" beim Wandern/SpazierenZum Joggen ist die Brille perfekt. Bei Dämmerung ist das Glas hell genug und bietet einen guten Schutz gegen Insekten. Im sonnigen Wald tönt sich die Brille gerade genug ein, um die Augen zu entlasten. Durch das große Sichtfeld und das leichte Gewicht vergisst man komplett, dass man eine Brille trägt.Zum Radfahren ist die Brille ebenfalls super. Das selbsttönende Glas passt sich wechselnden Umgebungsbedingungen gut an, sodass man die Brille sowohl auf dem sonnigen Feld wie auch im schattigen Wald aufbehalten kann. Die Anpassung an die Lichtverhältnisse dauert zwar immer kurz, fällt aber quasi nicht auf, da sich die Augen ebenfalls immer anpassen. Durch das große Glas sind die Augen gut vor Insekten oder von den Rädern aufgewirbelten Steinchen geschützt.Zum Wandern ist die Brille mäßig geeignet. Dies liegt zum einen darin, dass sich das Glas nicht ganz so dunkel einfärbt, wie man es im Gebirge vielleicht gerne hätte. Zum anderen - und das ist mein Hauptkritikpunkt an der Brille - dass die Gläser nicht entspiegelt sind. Durch seitlich einfallendes Licht spiegelt sich die Haut und die Wimpern in der Brille. Beim Joggen/Radfahren fällt das nicht so auf, beim Wandern jedoch schon. Bei einer Brille dieser Preisklasse sollte man eine Entspiegelung eigentlich erwarten können!Die Brille funktioniert grundsätzlich auch hinter Glas (z.B. im Auto), ist also nicht von UV-Strahlung abhängig. Zum Autofahren ist sie dennoch nur bedingt geeignet, da sie sich durch die Abschattung des Autos nur minimal einfärbt und so kaum zur Entspannung der Augen beiträgt. Wenn die Sonne tief steht und durch die Seitenscheibe einfällt, wird nur das Glas dunkel, das der Sonne zugewandt ist - der Rest bleibt klar.Fazit: 4 von 5 Sterne für eine super Sportbrille mit gutem Sitz und tollem Panoramaglas, sodass man ganz vergisst, dass man sie überhaupt trägt. Einziges Manko: Keine entspiegelten Gläser! Bei einer (Sonnen-)Brille >100 Euro hätte ich das erwartet!

Lunette de soleil idéale pour les activités sportives. Elle ont un look cycliste, mais je les utilises pour courir, faire du kayak...La monture est légère et les verres agréables. La transition peut surprendre car les verres s'adaptent à la lumière et c'est ce qui rend les lunettes tip top, car dès que le soleil disparaît les verres s'adaptent.

Great sunglasses, wish they had a hard case. The soft case is fairly good, but difficult to use one handed. A little wide for my face but my ipd is narrow. Questionable falloff security if you are upside down.
