Buy this and not a generic spark plug that claims to fit.
I’m only buying my mower parts from Amazon now bc the hardware store claimed that their generic one would fit my mower and it did not. Even though it takes two days to arrive (with Prime) it’s much better than having to go back and return something that doesn’t fit from the hardware store. (At least) at my local hardware store they do not carry brand specific parts and only offer these generic/after market parts that claim they will fit your mower, and the employee double checked on his system that it was the right part, but it didn’t fit my mower when I got home. Buying this from Amazon takes out the aggravation that comes with buying a part that needs to be returned because it doesn’t fit. Buying this official part also reassures me that it’s going to fit my mower and that it’s going to last all season.

Life changing innovation from Briggs & Stratton.
Holy crap ok let me start with a disclaimer, I don't know crap about internal combustion or small engine theory. One day I was trying to mow my lawn when my push mower wouldn't start. I started yanking random crap off of it and slamming it with this rock I have in my tool shed that I call "The problem solver" when I found this tiny little doohicky I later found out was a spark plug after I threw it at my neighbor's head and demanded he identify it. I arbitrarily decided that must have been the cause of my lawn maintenance failure, and ordered a replacement. A few days later, after what I would gague as a "mildly epic" drinking binge, three rolls of duct tape, liberal application of the problem solver and only three small fires, alakhazam! Working lawnmower. Either that or while drunk I stole my neighbor's. That guy is a jerk anyway. THIS SPARK PLUG CHANGED MY LIFE.
