Does this cord stretch? I need a cord with no stretch.

is this good to use for cell phone charms and book thongs?

I don't see why don't... It's tough cord, and very little weight... I used it to repair wind chimes... Your fancy book makers and cosmetic cell phone danglies should be a good fit for the cord. When I needed it to be thicker I just used a macramae chain knot. It stayed very flexable, but made it extremely strong.
