New Item Only One Available! This mr2 Signature solid cherry Tree Trunk Table with Live Edges and hand finished surfaces was made from a cherry tree that was damaged in a storm. The tree stump was salvaged from wood that was going to be burned after the storm. The piece has beautiful cracks, variegations and grain patterns in the wood which include flames, burl like swirls and color variations. The table is 31" Wide x 27" High x 26" Deep. The strength and rigidity of the piece was achieved by using 3" power head screws cover with solid cherry wood dowels. No nails or glue were used. The cherry tree trunk was taken to a saw mill and cut into uniform and parallel slices to insure a uniform thickness and level table top. All of the surfaces were hand planed, fine sanded and the bark removed in order to keep the natural curves and roughness of the edges. The cracks were stabilized with hand cut butterfly inserts to prevent further cracking. All of the joints and connections were hand cut to achieve uniform and solid joints. All the surfaces were fine sanded prior to the sealer being applied. The piece is shown in its natural state. There are a minimum of 9 coats of polyurethane lacquer applied to the top surface. All the surfaces are hand sanded after each application of lacquer dries 24 hours. Drop Shipping to closest Greyhound Package Express Station and insurance costs are included.
