I've never bought arrow shirts. does the sizes compares to the ralph lauren big and tall shirts?

I looked at the Ralph Lauren website and it lists only "big" sizes. From my experiences, "big" sizes are usually either way too big in the mid section and fit my upper body comfortably or fit my mid section comfortably and are tight on my upper body. The shirts I bought seem to be 3X, not 3X big. Apparently there is a difference. These shirts are also very comfortable, equally loose fitting all over and economical. If it helps, I wear a 50 regular suit jacket and it's a big snug on my mid section and also wear 3X t-shirts.

I have a 49" chest, 6'1", long torso, what size shirt should I order?

Not sure of my chest size but maybe your size and I am 6'4" with a long torso and I have purchased two shirts that are 2XLT and I am happy with the fit. I do wear the shirts untucked which fits with my Arizona life style. If you like the tucked in no blouse in the shirt you will have to gamble.

I normally wear a size 16 neck in a dress shirt. Not used to ordering small/medium/large. What size should I order ?

since people don't usually button the collar of a sport shirt its more of a matter of your stomach size than your neck. I have a 16 neck and a 34inch waist and usually buy medium shirt.

Do these have Velcro pockets?

No Velcro pockets… they are open on the top
