Royal VKB KN0421 Stainless Steel Meat Cleaver/Chinese Chef Butcher Knife, Ergonomic Handle, 29.5 cm, Dishwasher Safe

This is the second Chinese cleaver knife that I have bought. Though I love my Jean-Patrique Chopaholic cleaver, however I bought this one because I was drawn to it by the price. So far, I think this cleaver is phenomenal. I am shocked at the quality. The knife is beyond sharp, it cut through cardboard, it cuts through vegetables like butter. I am so impressed and happy with this cleaver! Defo recommend! You can’t go wrong with the price point, and beyond that, this is genuinely a great cleaver. This is comparable to the Jean-Patrique one I have which is double the price! I also prefer this one over my chopaholic one because it’s lighter, easy to hold and comfortable to manoeuvre- which is helpful for beginners.Overall would defo recommend this product

I haven't held a chopper like this in my hand for years (okay, joke over, I had to make that joke!).It's good, very good.Please bear in mind that this is stainless steel and not carbon steel (it is amazing that other reviewers think that knives should arrive sharp and remain so for a decade - knives need to be sharpened from time to time - invest in sharpening stones - they're cheap enough).Not being carbon steel means that it will stay sharp for a longish time and will take longer to go blunt, but conversely, it also takes longer to sharpen because stainless steel is tough. It arrives 'relatively sharp', but not as sharp as I would really want, but I will sharpen it further with some sharpening stones that I bought some time ago (YouTube will show you how to sharpen a knife).This knife has good balance and a good feel in the hand without being too heavy. I had a chopper from London's Chinatown many years ago but it probably got lost in a house move. I miss it, but it wasn't dishwasher-proof. This on is dishwasher proof.For the price, this knife is excellent (just make sure you buy some sharpening stones).

Sharp and deft and made clean, neat cuts. Cleanly minced bits of garlic as easily as it cleaved through hardy turnips. Plus, it’s quite affordable. Happy all round good purchase.

Bought this for my friend's birthday as he loves to cook and was always borrowing mine. He loves it and uses it all the time.. I got his one engraved which just added the personal touch.. Good n sharp and I like thst it's one solid piece rather than with an added handle that could break off whilst chopping. He uses it to chop thru whole chickens and meat mainly so it has no problem going thru the bone. Definitely a good buy.. Very sturdy steel and worth the price in my opinion 👍🏻

Good quality knife that arrives well packed and nice and sharp. I actually prefer a slightly flatter blade for chopping but it seems that most blades now are curved so there are few alternatives. Apart from that it's a great knife and in my humble opinion far just as useful yet safer than a traditional cooks knife. Highly recommended.

Very happy with this purchase, I have been tried many different others, but this one is the best, it is good weight to hold and easy to use. Recommend!
