I love this knife kit! It has a sturdy leather case that holds the knives securely in place, which is great for packing around. The knives came razor sharp with a nice, shinny appearance. The chocolate walnut handles are attractive and fit very comfortably in my hand. I am using them to carve a spoon from pine and they make whittling easy, nice clean cuts. My husband is a carpenter so he loves tools. He is very impressed with the quality of the Beavercraft tools I have and every time I think about getting another knife or gouge he tells me to get it from Beavercraft. Once my tool arrive he really scrutinizes it and remarks on the good quality and sharpness. If a tool does not meet his degree of sharpness, he gets right on sharpening it. He has not had to sharpen any of my new Beavercraft knives! Thank you Beavercraft for your commitment to quality tools.

Die Messer sind wirklich gut. Liegen prima in der Hand ,sind scharf und stabil. Allerdings fehlt mir eine Schutzhülle für die Klingen. Da die Tasche keine besondere Vorkehrung hat ausser der Lasche, liegen die Messer blank da und man kann sich doch schnell verletzen. Ich werde vermutlich selber noch lederstülpen für die Klingen anfertigen. Aber ansonsten wirklich einwandfreies Produkt.

These are very good quality wood carving knives , a deluxe set in a quality leather pouch with buckle fastening , it also comes with a leather strop and polishing compound for keeping the blades extremely sharp and maintained. Three different sized blades for various cuts and carving techniques, the larger knife looks lighter in colour to the other two knives , the walnut wood used can be different shades , so my only gripe is that they are not all the same chocolate brown walnut shade but the quality is still there apart from the colour. The knives slot into the leather wallet , it keeps them safe and secure and a safe place to store them , the leather pouch is genuine leather and looks really well crafted. If looked after these knives should last decades , they are extremely sharp out of the pouch and glide through soft wood , it's a good set with the strop and compound, I'd say they are good value and the handles feel really good to grip and hold , I find them easy to use. There were also plasters included in the set but hopefully they will never be needed.

While I wouldn't rate the knives 5/5 on their own, I rate this package as a 5 because of the quality and how much you get with this pack for the price. It's a great starter kit. Would recommend to anyone except seasoned professionals who demand the highest quality tools that will last a lifetime (ie: these are inserted blades, not full tang, and you can see they are mass produced, but are good quality for a mass production set)
