Good value heart rate belt to replace on most exercise equipment.
I bought this to replace my old heart rate belt that had split around the sensor after many years of use. My cross trainer detects any 5.3kHz heart rate belt so I didn't need to download any software or use any apps - the device worked immediately. Various apps are available to use it in Bluetooth mode with a smartphone if that's what you want. The device is charged from a standard USB port and the battery seems to last a very long time between charges. It has a flashing LED in use which can be set up (via an app) to give colours linked to your own heart rate limits (e.g. green for aerobic, red for at the limit etc) but I haven't bothered with that as my cross trainer takes care of that.

So far so good
I’ve had a number of HRMs over the years and in most cases they die a fast death. My last was a wahoo Tickr which I thought would be good but proved otherwise with a hungry battery consumption (1-3 rides per cr2032).This one seems much better. With a usb-c charger stand and much better life (3 rides ridden and it has plenty of charge and worked first time with Zwift.

As good as I want it to be.
Have used a variety of HRM devices over the years and the one thing that has always let down is the need for a replacement battery. One session without rolls over in to several by the time got round to restocking with batteries. The fact this has a rechargeable battery and its own charger was the pull in for me. Battery life is good once fully charged, managing to get plenty of lengthy sessions in especially as I use it during resistance training then again in the evenings when doing my cardio.Multiple connection options, Bluetooth,ANT+, and wireless again another pull in. Not had chance to test the wireless option yet as gyms are shut but the others are smooth and easy to setup and activate each time needed. Not found any of my apps not compatible with the pebble yet which gives hope in that should I change to another all should be well.Accuracy of readings/measurements is pretty good. Comparing with others devices, Heart Rate monitor, Trackers and even a well worn Polar HRM readings are similar across the board. During a cut my skin dehydrates pretty quickly so plenty of moisture or a little bit of gel works a trick for me, although not had to need the gel much just mainly during days of extreme dryness which is a user issue not device.Simple, ready to go when needed and giving me the data that I need when I need it.

Does the job
been using for a while now, and no real issues. I'm not sure about accuracy, but I have nothing to compare it too. Links fine from the Wahoo app and Zwift. Sometimes I have trouble connecting and have to put it on charge for a few secs.

Lasted 3 months, no response from livlov warranty
Gradually stopped working after 3 months. After 2 months, i bought one for my brother, thinking it was a good value purchase.. his stopped working after 1-2 months also.It would start to jump from a heart rate of about 100, to 180 at the start of every workout. After about 5-10 times pausing my run and just disconnecting the heart rate monitor from my watch, I accepted that it was causing more hassle than its worth, and emailed for the 1 year warranty... its been 2 weeks since i emailed now, and ive had no response. My brother is away now, so we have accepted that one wont be returned and was a waste of £40+. But wasting £80+ on 2, that both arent working... very annoying. I wish i just bought the expensive garmin one, which an actual reliable warranty, from the start.

great for 5.3kHz devices
It's great - it connects to my rowing machine using 5.3kHz so I can see my heart rate on the rower's display, while simultaneously connected to my Garmin FR45 watch which is recording it. And the V8 does a lot better job than the FR45's wrist sensor - see picture. Jagged upper graph is from the wrist sensor, lower one is from the V8. (Same route, one week apart; Strava.)Only minor complaint is the instruction manual, which is a bit rubbish eg. tells you which way round the unit should be (L on the left etc.) but not the strap. And doesn't tell you what the different colours of the LED indicate when it's charging. But I think I've got it sussed - for the strap, the short side with the loop in it should be on your right hand side, so the metal bit hooks over it. For the LED, flashing means charging, solid means charged, I think :)

All HRM need to be this good.
Must admit this is great value, when you consider never having to mess around putting batteries in, so much more convenient and probably gonna last longer as you'll never have to open it up.

Works well, and is well-priced
I’ve used this twice a week at least for the last 3 months. It is responsive, and the battery life is excellent - I’ve only had to charge it twice over 3 months. The range is good - you can read the device from around 10m, which is good for PT sessions.
