Money well spent!! Will recommend to all my boating friends
My husband bought this so we could change the oil in our boat motors and generator ourselves instead of paying someone else to do it. If you own a boat then you know nothing is cheap! It was easy to assemble and operate. It took maybe 15 minutes to suck the oil out of both motors and 5 minutes on the generator. Oil changing is made easier now!! The bucket that it’s attached to was small but we just brought an empty 5 gallon bucket with us to put the used oils in. It even has a reverse suction so we could put the hose in the other bucket, flip the switch the other way and it emptied the used oil it just sucked out of the boat into the other container. No mess!!! This is a definite buy if you change your own oil!!!

I like it, but feel it needs a few more features included for a transfer pump at this price level.
Changed oil in 1 vehicle and 3 pieces of industrial equipment this week.Worked well and transferred warm and hot used oil in a decent time period. The weights of used oil transferred were:4 quarts of 5W/20 (normal vehicle operating temp)2 quarts of 90W oil (fluid was approximately 170 degrees)3 quarts of 30W oil (fluid was at normal operating temp)2 pints of 40W oil from a pump that is hard to access (fluid approximately 90 degrees). My complaints from a product price point are:1. You'll need to add a couple more zip-ties to the handle/bucket area to prevent it from tipping over while carrying it ( balance is top heavy until it's half full of oil).2. There are no clips installed to hold the pickup and discharge hoses on the unit and prevent them from leaking oil during non-use.3. Where the discharge hose enters the bucket lacks a seal and is a potential leak point.4. To discharge the waste oil from the bucket requires removal of the smaller diameter hose from the larger hose, but the clamp holding the 2 hoses together isn't meant to be disassembled.5. The bucket doesn't have a clear see-thru area on the side and lacks any liquid measurement markings. We need to know how much oil was removed. That way I can judge how complete the oil change is and also be sure to put the same amount of fresh oil back into the equipment.6. Like some of my other oil transfer equipment has, it would be nice to have a wire insert inside the small diameter hose so that you can form it to the shape needed to reach the bottom of the oil pan without it curling up and away from the bottom. The above 6 items should be included features in a transfer pump at this price level.I tested this pump on equipment in the shop and now am confident it will be suitable to change fluids in our sailboat engine, transmission and generator without making a mess.

If you change your outboard's fluids - You need this
Very nice setup with strong pump to make short work of oil changes without disassembly and using the engines drain plug. Was just what we needed to change oil on boats while in the water. A bit pricy but expect it to last a long time. Will also use on my trucks and other engines.

Needed this after years of using a hand pump.
Decided it was time to "automate" the ol' oil changing process in my boat engines. Picked this up, even though I thought it was a bit pricey (WAY cheaper than the ones put out by the oil changer companies). Hooked everything up, threw the switch, and in about 3 minutes, engine was empty. Keep in mind, this comes with a 3 (maybe 3.5) gallon bucket, hardly enough to empty two GM big block marine engines. No problem, swap it with a 5 gallon bucket and you're ready to go. Once you swap buckets, you MUST drill thru the existing holes, and redo the zip ties. These hold the bucket bail upright. This unit is top heavy, and "tilt" heavy, as the pump isn't centered on the lid. Not a big deal though, pay attention to what you're doing and you won't have any issues. Last, and if you want to invest a few bucks, go get a bucket lid and a new bucket, take the pump lid off the bucket full of oil, and slap the new lid on it. Drop it off at your local auto store that takes oil, and you're done. Just remember to re-zip tie the new bucket to the pump lid. Yeah, a little extra work, but worth not having to dump the oil (the pump lid does have a spout) into another container, etc.
