Les Trois Cochons (Cajun Tall Tales)

I purchased this book the first time in New Orleans at the French Market and it became both my kids' favorite when we wanted to be silly and laugh during story time! It's written by a Cajun author and is a hysterical rendition of the 3 Little Pigs in Cajun - so a little bit of Cajun French mixed in with english and the illustrations are also fantastic! Plus we LOVE New Orleans and the culture and history so it's great to have conversations about all of our trips there over the years. There's even a recipe at the end of the book. When I saw this on Amazon - I had to buy it for my neice who just had twin boys. I was so thrilled to find this again 20 years after buying it in NOLA.

This is a well-made sturdy book. With great illustrations in a familiar story with a hilarious twist. I would recommend this to anyone looking to connect with Cajun culture. I'm from Houma Louisiana which is just around that area and I loved this book.

This is the third book by Sheila Hebert Collins I have bought for my granddaughter. They are all awesome books. An absolutely must for Cajuns and an enjoyable book for anyone!

This book is a lot of fun! Maybe you have to be familiar with the Cajun culture to appreciate it, but I think it is a great read and a fun gift for anyone. Also check out the Cajun Night Before Christmas.

This book is DREADFUL. My husband, son and I are a French-English Bilingual family. It is not worth being read aloud to our son even once!!! We returned it almost as soon as it arrived. Don't bother if you're looking for an authentic depiction of the French language. This mix of French/English (franglais) is exactly what we are trying to teach our son NOT to do! Find another French read instead!
