Firm once filled with soil, these inexpensive bags will replace my containers
Love these. I bought the three sizes so that my seeds could start, then get one transfer, and the hopefully live in the larger bag until ready to plant. Note that for their largest bag, you could let them live there...but unlike big plastic pots, these 'square once dirt is in' bags would NOT withstand wind, etc. However, I use wagons to grow plants....and these "squared" bags allow support from each other bag. For someone like me with little sun, I can move them to where the sun is in the metal utility wagon. At the end of season, you can easily wash and store "flat", these bags. Excellent.

Needs a sturdy bottom
Needs a plastic bottom insert for stability. I used Popsicle sticks.

Bottom is not square
Bottom is not square, so be careful that plant is stable, or could have a spill on hands. Other than that these bags will absolutely do the trick to size up, harden off plants, then i usually transplant to a plastic pot to finish. But will work full term as well. Good product for price.

A Good Deal
Product is as advertised and for the deal you get it's definitely worth it convenient to be able to dispose of the pots at the end instead of cleaning them.

Not flat bottomed, as pictured.
These are not flat bottomed, as pictured. They have a bottom like a zip lock freezer bag. We were disappointed with that.

I have a lot of the fabric grow bags in vaious sizes but ran out with all the cuttings and plants I start from seed (around 300). I keep potting them up as they grow over winter and spring. The fabric bags are expensive compared to these. Pros and cons between the various options. I have solid plastic pots, light grow bags that are small, the heavier fabric bags in 1, 2 and 3 gallon sizes and now these. The fabric ones dry out quickly so it's less likely to overwater. I sometimes leave the plants in them and semi bury them in the garden and they get hidden by the leaves of other plants. Others I remove from the fabric bags which can be a little tricky sometimes. Taking plants out of plastic containers is easy but the roots tend to grow thickly next to the plastic if they are overgrown for the pot and you have to tease them out when planting which is going to set them back a bit. These bags are a good size to get the plants to grow bigger but you will go through potting medium quickly. I get the packed 3.8 cu ft bales and have gone through 4 this winter/spring. Anyway these bags seem sturdy enough, time will tell. They WILL STAND UP without a problem, you just have to pack the potting mix down. I fill them 1/3 full and press it down firmly and that flattens the bottom and squares the base up them fill up the remainder loosely. Some people can't seem to figure anything out. I have them turned inside out so the black side is out so if I want to semi bury them I can without them being so obvious. I have a lot of plants in fabric bags that I put in the garden over the season to fill holes where the perenials have died back or annuals have petered out. So this will be the first season with these type of bags so remains to be seen how well they will hold up. Hope to get a few seasons out of them, time will tell. So I'm happy with them so far and would recomend them.

Very handy and convenient. Once a little dirt is in the bottom, these bags sit flat and are stable. I rolled the sides down and left room to add more dirt as the plants grew. Plants can continue to grow until its time to plant outside. I will rinse the bags when done, and use next season.

I ordered 50 bags but only got 38. I am missing at least 12 bags. Messed up my transplanting.
