Makes changing bedding a breeze! Helps prevent bedding getting into drinking water. Just wish they were a little thicker. Right now we are using them for bedding for our baby chicks. I may start putting them n their nesting boxes. But feel I would hav to add more bedding on top for more padding for the hens. But works great for easy cleanup.

Our hens certainly prefer straw in their nesting boxes. Started using lined straw pads a few months ago and have found it really helps keep the boxes clean. I'll daily shake off any waste that's in the straw after collecting eggs and find that lengthens the lifespan of the pads. Once they are too soiled, I simply pull them out and replace them with another pad. I was hesitant at first to try the Backyard Barnyard version since they were much less expensive (assuming you get what you pay for) but have found no difference in size or quality between these pads and others I've used that are slightly more expensive. Highly recommend this product.

For years I used wood chips in the nests but chickens scratch while making a nest to lay eggs and the chips ended up on the floor and had to be replaces daily. These pads are much easier to keep in the nest even though chickens still scratch to make their nest. These pads last much longer and the eggs stay much cleaner as a result. Great product for a seemingly easy to solve problem but sometimes is not so easy until you find the right product.

My birds like these ready made nests. I change out once a month. 4 birds use it. Normally they don’t poop in their nests but sometimes you have a bird that decides to be a jerk. I check for eggs twice a day so not really an opportunity for it to get stacked up or dirty. No eggs have cracked on this pad. It fits perfectly. I give it a little fluff/gather in the middle then push away in center to create the perfect nest. I use a single wood egg to remind them it’s a nest and not a place to go to the bathroom. Totally recommend.

I ordered these a bit on a whim and am quite pleased with how they look and function in my coop! Eggs are super clean, hens aren't scratching them to bits. Looks much tidier than the shavings I'd been putting into the laying boxes, and the hens don't seem to be pooping on them at all.

My girls love these pads. I laid them all over their coop area and they went nuts scratching them and pulling them apart making new nest areas! It’s so much fun to go in the coop now and see what they have done with the place lol. Chicken decorating!!! I will buy these again when needed.

These were easy to install I to our nesting boxes and after some squawking, our hens like them. Our fresh eggs are now clean even on muddy days. Highly recommend these. You can trim them to fit your boxes or cram them in like I did.

These are excellent to grab and replace, we no longer keep a mess of hay stored in the garage or by the coop. Keep the eggs very clean. Only concern is, the chickens do shred at the material a bit.
