Herman Miller Classic Aeron Chair - Fully Adjustable, C size, Adjustable Lumbar, Carpet Casters

I've had this used/"reconditioned" Herman Miller chair for around six months now. Quite honestly, it's junk. I've had a couple of "real"/new HM chairs, and this is nothing like them. This chair creaks like crazy when you sit in it or move even slightly. It's loose and rattly. The friction holds for both arms rests are shot, so the armrests don't stay where I adjust them, they slide all the way down within minutes. Within the first week of receiving the chair, I sat in it and the frame holding the mesh seat popped loose. I had to break out tools and spend an hour or so trying to put it back together. What really stings is that while less than a new HM chair, it was still a lot of money. I've about had enough of dealing with it already, so I have to haul it to the dump and STILL put out big money if I want a real HM chair. HM chairs are so well made, I figured even used they would still be solid pieces of furniture. NOT so in this case. I recommend you pass on these. I'm sure disgusted with the purchase. ***Update12-28-25*** The chair has only gotten worse. Now the gas cylinder has failed and the chair can only be used in it's lowest position. This is not merely a terrible product, I would call the sale of these a scam. I think Amazon should disassociate from this seller.

You get what you pay for. This Aeron computer chair is top of the line, ergonomically fantastic, and has a ten year warranty. Your mattress and computer chair are the two most important pieces of "furniture" that people typically spend most of their time in. If you need to save a bit longer to afford this chair, take the time to do so. This will be the last computer chair you'll ever need to buy. Highly recommended!

BUYER BEWARE!!! Herman Miller does NOT sell their chairs on Amazon. Even though the official brand or "store" is listed as Herman Miller on this page, it's actually being fulfilled through some third party vendor that either made a crummy knock-off chair or 'refurbished' a broken Herman Miller. My chair, on day 1, was missing both the Seat Adjustment Lever, and one of the screw threads for the back rest was completely stripped and unable to fasten. One of the arms could not hold it's position in place because of a broken plastic piece. Now, about a year later, the left arm rest just snapped off. Even putting all these quality issues aside, it's not even a very comfortable chair, I feel all sorts of back and leg pains when sitting in it for work. This is $800 down the drain. Amazon does not consider refunds or returns for this because of the weird, hidden third-party vendor setup that's being run here. The vendor is unreachable for inquiry into returns/refunds. It feels like I've been completely scammed. I'm frankly shocked that Amazon is allowing this on their website. DO NOT BUY THIS. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Great experience overall. Contacted ahead of chair being shipped, insure I was aware of it being refurbished. Otherwise, asides from very slight wear on the left armrest and a faint stain on the seat, the chair is in great shape. Controls worked on the first try. Casters look new. Chair base, looks like new. Mesh, in excellent shape. Overall, glad I finally treated myself to an Aeron. Worthy of all its design accolades - and believe a spot at MOMA, wasn’t it?

The assembly and quality of manufacturing of this chair is atrocious! I've had to essential reassemble this chair and it's still not performing like it should - lots of creaking and movement that should not occur. And now, one of the screws holding the frame of the mesh seat has apparently failed.

Nice chair that I was hoping would be just like my comfortable work chair. Close but just feels about 80% of expectations. Maybe just the fit and some small things that add up to make it good, but not great!

awesome chair and it was refurbished and was a good value. My husband has wanted one for a long time and this one is perfect. It was easy to put the back on and the rest of the chair was in good working order.

First it didn’t come with wheels. I tried customer service. I had to go through amazon. Supposedly the seller was going to contact me but they never did. So I ended up ordering different wheels on my own. Sucks I paid this much for a wheel less chair but fine. I’ll suck that up. First day I used the chair, the arm mechanism broke. I don’t even think it’s fixable. Some little tiny piece of plastic inside the part that slides up and down broke in half. I’m so disappointed and so mad at myself for not just buying a new chair. Never again. I’d give zero stars if I could. What a rip off.
