38kHz Infrared (IR) Receiver Module for Arduino and Remote Controlled Electronic Circuits

A friend had a Bose music machine he purchased years ago that had not buttons to operate it, ONLY the remote control. The reciever module stopped working. I could tell the remote was working, I watched the IR light flickering through my phone camera and he also said he took it to a Bose place and the remote worked their products. In removed the old one, soldered in the new one, and it works like a new one. Bose wanted $200 to repair it. I cut the legs on the old module to make removing the solder from the holes easier, and of course take a quick picture with your cell phone before starting to remind you of component orientation when you install it. I also touched the legs of the component to the old one while powered on and the remote worked fine, so I knew it would work after installation.

Ordered item to see if I could fix my Bose Cinemate that had been sitting in my home office for a year. The IR receiver worked like a charm and I had no issues or problems removing (desoldering) and replacing (resoldering). Please be very patient when soldering and take your time. I promise when you reassemble and hit the power button you will be extremely satisfied. (If you need assistance, I used a Youtube video).

Used this to fix my Original Bose Cinemate Interface Module that took a power surge and stopped working. Figured it was worth a shot versus spending $80 for a new one. Direct replacement solder fitting. Works like a champ now.

Worked flawlessly on my Bose cinemate series 2! Expensive considering they used to sell for $.70 but great product nonetheless.

These are 7000 percent higher than cost...it did arrive but had oil or dirt on posts so couldn't get solder to stick...im sure they were lying around and fingered ..i should have scoured them with alcohol..i did try cleaning but post broke off, possibly my fault...now im going to order more for thousands of percent less...wanna bet?

My BOSE system would not respond to my remote unit and acted as if it was mostly dead. No on-board controls were on the main box to turn the unit on/off. A little trouble shooting pointed to the IR receiver module in the interface box just "might be" bad. So for just a few bucks I thought it was worth trying. WA LAAA... System now works like a champ. An easy replacement for anyone that has ever used a small soldering iron.

These are great IR receivers but when I purchased 3 I was shipped only 2. I can tell it was a simple mistake, as three electronics baggies were included but only 2 contained the actual product and there was no sign it fell out of the bag into the packaging. If I could get the third one reshipped I'd gladly revise this review and bump it up to 5 stars

A hard to find part, exact replacement IR receiver for an old Bose Wave radio . Online video shows how to diagnose if it's really the receiver that has the fault. I also had mistakenly suspected a faulty remote. Had a technician friend solder it in. Works perfectly now.
