Atomixauto 2003-2008 Pontiac Vibe Roof Rack Cross Bars

Bought a set of these last November for my 2005 Pontiac Vibe. The crossbars themselves appeared to be decent quality and solid. I had some worries about the towers or clamps that tighten onto my factory side rails. I used them about a half dozen times without incident. The end caps are plastic that have a long hex type wrench attached that turns to tighten up the clamps. Seems to be part metal part plastic. End caps lock. It seemed like a solid setup which I attached Yakima Kayak saddles to/which attaches your Kayak to the crossbars. The whole setup seemed to be pretty solid....until.... Well driving down the highway at 65 mph without warning---heard a quick double thump---pulled over to find kayak and crossbars gone.. Yes Kayak and whole aftermarket crossbar setup gone---ran over by several cars and trucks... Total loss about $800 dollars.... Apparently the towers/clamps must have broke off---from the recovered debris----probably the front ones first then the rear ones when the front went airborne. Then of course the damage to the car behind me that ran over the kayak and debris. Learned a valuable lesson. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY A QUALITY NAME BRAND RACK SYSTEM...

These cross bars were slightly tedious to install because of the locking mechanisms on them. They fit my 2005 Pontiac Vibe well, but did create a lot of wind noise to the point where it wasn't enjoyable to have my moon roof open while driving.After a year or so of use, the rubbery feet clamping parts started to show signs of sun damage - light cracking. I misplaced the keys and it wasn't overly difficult to force the lock bars out of the rack to take them off.Overall, they did the job for hauling my kayak, but it would have been nicer to have other attachments to it for tying the load down.

It fits on my 2008 Pontiac vibe but after installation the bar were about 4-6" wider than car width on both sides and sometime bump into taller persons head especially if you are getting your kids into car seat and forget to look on top.They are easy to install and take it out when not needed.

My 03' Pontiac Vibe came with factory roof rail crossbars but due to design could not acamodate the spacing required for the Roof Basket I purchased to install. I Looked around at the big name companies, Used items and the GM Aftermarket parts. For the money this is the best deal I found as they are setup the same as every brands clamping for the roof rails and the best value out there considering they are the aluminum bars vs steel and come with the lock cores. Install was easy and for myself didn't require any instructions. Held tight and secure, supported the weight of the roof top cargo basket and made it through a long trip with all the travel gear and a camping trip with even more gear and the rooftop cargo bag. Now since I don't have to haul anything for a while it only took a minute or two to remove the basket and bars which is much easier than the factory bars. Also, I didn't notice any additional noise when they were installed without the basket. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't have looked around so long and just purchased these in the first place.

I was a little skeptical, but for hundreds less than others I took a chance. Once I got them, I installed them on my '08 Vibe in about 15 mintues. They look great and are very secure. They look like they came with the car. I went to a local kayak shop and the salesperson saw the crossbars and said they look like a Thule product which cost about $300. He said for $99 they were a steal. I installed a Yakima kayak rack on them and they hold them secure. I would definitely recommend this product if you need crossbars, but want to save some money. The only caution is the aluminum edges are rough cut and are very sharp. It's only a problem while installing. Once on you don't see the edges.

The construction for the money is good,you must pay attention to the boots surrounding the rail clamps when installing on my vibe I was unable to slide the front bar to the end of my roof rack because the clmaps bottomed on the car roof so that limits the carrier bag I can use.

I just installed these bars on my 2005 Vibe. The instructions were more than adequate,and these look to be sturdy enough to haul things like ladders and canoes without any real problems. Compared to what else is offered for this model car, these are a real bargain.

Package delivered on the first day of the estimated delivery window (note that this was the day after Independence Day and, therefore, unexpectedly punctual). The bars were easy to assemble and required no instructions; although I can understand that written or illustrated instructions may be a nice addition to the package for many people. Emergency tool was included and is a nice touch. The OCD part of me would like it if the shipping system were linked to Amazon for constant updates on status, but that is just splitting hairs. These bars are nicer than some I have seen at more than double the price, it seems a great value. I am very excited to get my kayak up on it this weekend!
