This is far better than other irons due to the scale remover and the way the iron runs over clothes.It has some proprietary film over an alloy that makes it glide smoothly and not stick like other irons.Well worth the money as it was on offer from £130 to £63.I'll take that type of deal all day long.

Makes ironing quick and easy but is quite heavy

I bought this to replace a 5 year old Philips Azur, I had intended to buy another but they appear to be very scare now (as do mid-range steam irons in most large outlets. Perhaps they've also been impacted by the shortage of microchips?) so decided to go for a Tefal having had one previously. My two requirements were: auto-off and a 3m lead. Having searched for a while this and the even more expensive Gold model appeared to be the only options available to me. At nearly £90 it's entering the low end of the Steam Generator price range, and I did consider one of those but don't have a suitable ironing board.I'm generally pleased with the iron, it appears well made and is substantive rather than heavy. Due to the high wattage it heats up very quickly and produces steam almost instantly. The water tank is large but does empty fast with too much use of the steam shot button. Without it, I managed to do 6 cushion covers, six rugby shirts and a duvet cover (all 100% cotton) before I had to refill. From a performance aspect I'm happy with it but it's just too expensive compared with my previous iron. In addition it requires the two filters to be soaked monthly in citric acid, which adds to the cost and the faff. It's also worth noting that due to the high wattage it may impact lighting during use!

This iron is excellent! I've had it 6 months and apart from once adding water when the steam switch wasn't off which then mate it leak, it's been absolutely top notch. It smoothes the creases in my crinkliest shirts with ease.The best thing about this iron is the limescale filter! My last (Morphy Richards) iron had so much limescale and rust coming out of was ruining my clothes. I live in a hard water area and use 50/50 tap and deionised water as per the manual clean the scale out every month or so and use an old toothbrush to get right in to clear it out.The long power lead is a bonus too.One downside is the trigger for the turbo boost is too prominent on the handle so you have to learn not put pressure on your index finger.Thanks :)
