I've only had it a day, but I love it already.
I have only had this for a day but I already love it. I have a similar Philis Multigroomer trimmer (7790/40 model), which comes with about 30,000 different blade guides and other accessories. I really like the multigroomer but I almost never use the kazilion blade guides, etc. When I was cutting my own hair (thank you, pandemic), I graduated to serious clippers (Andis, Babyliss) because the multigroomer wasn't quite up to the task. I did use it occasionally as a beard and mustache trimmer, but the multitude of guards and having to swap them around all the time made it rather tedious. I've had half a dozen other trimmers of various brands, too, and have never been in love with any of them. There's the backstory. On to the good part. Enter the Philips OneBlade 360. "But wait, that's not this trimmer!" you exclaim. I stumbled on that trimmer a couple of days ago and, well, why not? Figured I would give it a try. Really like it! But that's a whole different review. It does not, however, come with a case, the search for which led me to THIS trimmer. When I saw the 9810, I quickly realized it is basically the same trimmer as the multigroomer, without all the blade guides, etc., and the really slick dial-in trimming adjustment. Sold. So why did I buy it when I had just bought the OneBlade 360? They are really good at different things. The OneBlade 360 I bought, which is the face and body trimmer version, is great for edging, shaping, clean up, manscaping, etc., and a quick face clean up when I don't want to wet shave. It's super maneuverable, quick, and versatile. In short, I like it for quick cleanups and edging but not so much for an all-out trim. The BT9810 is excellent for more serious trimming. I get the benefits of a trimmer with multiple blade guards without all the fiddling around. It is bulkier and less nimble than the OneBlade for clean-up and shaping but does a better job at the more involved or thicker cutting. You aren't going to use this in other places either, like for manscaping. I got more consistent length when setting this to a 5mm cut and hitting my mustache and beard than with the OneBlade. The OneBlade gave me nicer edges. Probably because it is just more maneuverable and shaves more like a razor in some ways. So, I wound up with two clippers I didn't know I needed. I love them both. And if you are a fan of Philips multigroomers but don't need or want 30,000,000 separate guides, this is for you. Have someone on your holiday list that you want to spoil? Buy them this trimmer. Or buy them both. Or buy them for yourself. All the other lackluster trimmers are going to the thrift shop now. I'll keep the multigroomer for those oddball occasions when I want the versatility of multiple blade guards, the body groomer, and interchangeable blades. If you read this far, you definitely deserve to buy yourself this trimmer.

Smooth beard trimmer, good battery life
Only used it a few times so far but so far: Does a smooth shave with and without the guard attachment; very smooth! works well; battery life seems great, I charged it for like 15 minutes and could use it right away; it feels good and solid and sturdy; easy to open and clean; it's nice that it is waterproof. The small case is nice for travel. I do not think it would be good for edging at 0.4MM shortest length, I mean it is enough to set a target line or something but you really need a razor or a shaver that goes fully down to the skin. But it is a beard trimmer, not shaver, so that is OK, I shave with something else anyways. Overall very happy with the purchase. Would be nice for $100 if it came with a couple other guards just in case yours broke though or if you wanted more length. If durability is an issue I will report back but so far it is great.

Excellent beard trimmer
This is a great beard trimmer, solid and well built. The thing I really like is the fact it doesn't need any additional combs/guards up to 1cm, it's all built into the sturdy metal head. There is a dial on the trimmer that enables you to set the trimming length required, this is a god send for me as I travel a lot and am forever losing the guards for my OneBlade. Downside 1 - it's a sturdy unit with a lot of metal so is therefore a lot heavier than something like the OneBlade. It's also quite big but even given it's size it works very well and allows pretty efficient smooth trimming. It's best gripped by the rubberised part at the top of the unit for the best results. Downside 2 - it uses a special proprietary connector which is not USB. It comes with a 120V charger so not much use when travelling outside of countries that don't have 120V. You can get a USB C to special connector adapter from Yinke which seems to work well so far but means another thing to lose when travelling. Downside 3 - to do precision lines and edges you'll still need something like a OneBlade. I've given this a 4/5 rather than a 5 due to the downsides but overall a great product all the same.

One of the best products I own. Good looking, long lasting and very useful.
Best beard trimmer on the market. Charge last a very long time. Feels like I only charge it every couple to few months and I use it every day. Really well made. Runs smooth and no signs of slowing down, well after a year of almost daily use. Lots of options for length (.2 through 3 blade, even without guards). Great sophisticated and sleek look. Cuts well, I shave my beard, outer ear, eye brows and body hair. One of the best and most reliable products I own in any category

Perfect except one thing
Really great trimmer. It makes me want to trim my beard because of how easy and powerful it is. It feels great in the hand and the metal clipper gives a very even trim. So much better than plastic guards which I always feel never cuts perfectly even. There is only one downside. The lowerest it can cut is 0.4mm. So if you want to do some shaping, it doesn’t get rid of all of the hair unfortunately. But if you have a razor, can use the in addition to the trimmer for shaping. I like to shape my mustash ends so it doesn’t look like a handlebar. With my old trimmer, I could do this easily by removing the guard. But with this trimmer, you can’t remove the guard, so it’s a bit inconvenient. But have a razor on hand and it can solve it. Still I would like if it could go down to 0. Bit of a bummer but overall, it’s still the best trimmer I’ve ever used. So I’m happy with it

Spectacular Battery Life & Practical
I am happy with the Norelco Philips trimmer. Battery life is spectacular, which solves a big issue I've had with other trimmers I've owned. I was seeking a non-proprietary rechargeable cable like USB, and while this product does not provide that, it offers the next best thing. It uses a standard Norelco Philips cable that is so ubiquitous you probably already own one from a razor or prior trimmer. The cable itself is slim (not a hulking electronic brick) and can easily be packed. Most importantly, a replacement cable can easily be found online for less than $10. The lowest trimmer setting provides an amazingly close trim—sometimes too close. Running the razor over your lips will cut your lips. This isn't a major issue; it's a tiny cut you'll forget about soon afterwards. However, I have never had that occur with prior trimmers.

PROFESSIONAL TRIM
I have bought less than $50 Wahl trimmers for years. I decided to give this 9000 Series Norelco/Phillips Trimmer a try at twice the price point. All the reviews of this model, except a few, gave it rave reviews. After it arrived I could tell this was a well built trimmer with more steel than plastic. The trim guide was a little getting used to, it took about two minutes, and the best, cleanest trim I have had in years. The cutting height dial lets you set the precise cutting height for your particular needs-this is a game winner!!! It is extremely sturdy, well balanced and DOES NOT PULL ANY HAIRS on my 63 year old beard! Yes, I had one at birth. In fact, it takes less time with this trimmer, due to the overall quality and sharpness of the blades, than all the trimmers I have purchased in the past. If you are looking for a beard trimmer this is THE one. It is money well spent. "You get what you pay for"!!!

Philips' Battery Issue, Two Trimmers Bite the Dust
I hate giving negative reviews, but...here we go. THE PREVIOUS PHILIPS' TRIMMER DIDN'T WORK: About a month ago I purchased the Norelco Multigroomer 5000, which came already charged to capacity. This was a great product until the charge dissipated about one month later. When I tried to charge it back up, the light indicator didn't come on and I figured I'd just check in on it the next day. Still nothing. Perhaps the problem had to do with the outlet. I plugged it into another socket, left it, and again, the trimmer wouldn't turn on. I began testing other products to see if it was a matter with the outlet and found my roommates' trimmer charged just fine. Thinking the issue had to be with the cord—because after all, upon arrival, the trimmer worked just fine—I purchased a second charging cable, which also didn't work. I jiggled the cord, made sure it was pushed in firmly, again, tested other outlets. Nothing worked and because I purchased and used the unit for about one month with no problems, the time to return it had passed. THE NORELCO 9000: Defeated yet trying to be optimistic, I decided perhaps I should go with the Cadillac of Philips' line, to really ensure I get a product which works. The first bad sign to me was seeing that a few of the recent reviews noted their product had hair already in their unit upon arrival. Firstly, that's absolutely disgusting, but you'd think Philips would really invest in some quality control with such complaints. So I purchased the unit thinking this particular matter would have been resolved. When my unit arrived, I felt immediate relief as no other human's hair could be found on or in the unit. I tried turning it on and the battery light indicator showed it was next to dead. No problem. I read the instructions and saw it needed to charge for a solid 2 hours, so I plugged it in, and came back after that time period. Upon picking up the unit, I was shocked to find the handle was hot to the touch! The charger was also fairly warm. After unplugging the unit, I tried to turn it on and the same low battery light came on. It was still completely dead. I am a manufacturing engineer and know somewhat about quality control and what can happen to a lithium ion battery if it gets too hot. The short story is that in extreme cases, it can catch on fire. CONCLUSION: These problems are absolutely ridiculous and unfortunately for me, consistent. Perhaps I'm a 'one in a million case', but I don't think that's very likely. The fact that other's have found human hair already in their unit can't help but make me wonder, how many of these units being sold as new, were already used and returned. Is this why my two purchased trimmers didn't work—they were defective products, sent back and sold as new? To sell a already used unit as new is a horrible and shady business practice. This is coming from a person who often buys refurbished products with no problem whatsoever. I'm honestly shocked to see all of the rest of the positive reviews regarding these products and wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Go with any other brand but Philips and sleep peacefully at night.

Easily the best beard trimmer out there
Ive tried a few beard trimmers and this one nails it. great quality product, good weight and ergonomic feel. The button isnt in a weird spot like others so its comfortable to hold. The trimmer head gets into tight angles without pulling odd facial expressions just to get under the jaw-line.. it cuts first time unlike a lot of other beard trimmers ive had, this beauty actually cuts first go without having to go over the same spots multiple times and the trimmer head is super accurate so it doesnt matter how youre holding it, it wont dip in too far or give an uneven cut. once the cutting height is set, thats it! it also has an amazingly satisfying sound when cutting that only reinforces the quality of this machine. battery life seems great so far, and power is not a problem for me (probably slightly above average beard thickness) it came with an additional blade height guide, which is good not to have too many bits floating around in my vanity drawer. and the case is good quality. not a fan of the proprietary charger cable, should have just gone with a usb C or something more universal. my only criticism is that i would rate it as a BEARD trimmer.. it has no mercy on more sensitive areas in my experience.. so just be careful... cheers
