It's just works!
This USB C hub is really good. In my country, you cannot buy this and if someone sell this product, the price is insanely expensive, about $200. I'm impressed with the quality. All ports are working fine. You can use both SD cards and MicroSD at the same time. I have tried plugging in all the ports and it can handle it with no issues. People complaining about the HDMI is not 60Hz. For me, 60Hz is working fine and support HDR too (amazing!). The only thing is, the USB ports is only USB3.0 and 5Gbps. It will slow down my SSD speed a little bit but I'm okay with it. My mouse receiver dongle will lag and jump due to interference caused by USB3.0. So I will use another USB C to USB A converter for this. Lastly, the hub is not hot when using it. Overall, I can easily recommend this product to other people.

First-rate leading edge product
2 big differences from all other hubs motivated me to purchase this:Detachable cable _ not just one, but two.One short one stores in unit, another long (about 1 meter) one is provided.+USB-C data port - much more convenient and faster - don't have to find a USB-C to USB-A cable, most of my cables are USB-C to USB-CWell designed and made. Aluminum construction. Works well. No issues.Have not had a chance to try everything out yet. Amazon sent me an email asking me to review it. So far I am very pleased with it.

Works great as long as it is connected to AC
In an ocean of dongles, no one seems to understand the needs to real users, when it comes to creating an excellent hub for MacBook Pro or Air with Thunderbolt ports. This unit from Satechi gets some credit though, as it tackles very basic and necessary connections needed by most people. First of all, one negative is that, in order for this hub to do anything, it needs to be plugged in to electricity on the PD USB-C port on one side, it does not even ready SD cards without power so, just connect it and you can use it. Second, the same complaint as many others out there, it slows down my external SSD to 315MB/s, as opposed to 425MB/s I get from my older iMac with USB 3.0 ports, unfortunately, dunno if that is coming from the circuitry in the Satechi hub or from the Thunderbolt 4 ports in my MacBook Pro M1...Sad! Well, the 4k output is great, I'm even able to drive my 55in Vizio 4k TV, reports 60Hz 4k and that's all I need. ***One important fact, this Amazon posts says the unit does not provide power from any of the data ports in the unit, even the manual says nothing about but, in reality I was able to charge my iPhone 12 from the USB-A 3.0 that is exactly across from the USB-C / PD port on the other side, so it does provide power on that port only. The ethernet is great, the VGA output port is hard to understand...why do I need that these days?? I wish it had another HDMI 2.0 or at least a DP port or something else. Overall a good unit and I would still recommend it!

Quick response with external monitor
I have a 2020 16" MacBook Pro and have tried a number of hubs that could offer what I was looking for: under $100, ability to charge independently or with power through, USB A ports, HDMI and SD card slot. Biggest thing was ability to extend to my 34" Acer monitor quickly and cleanly. Among others, VAVA was so slow to get monitor to respond (sometimes over a minute). HyperDrive was a little better but don't like the fact it needed 2 of the 4 USB C ports to do so. But this little guy did the trick and so far couldn't be happier. Monitor extends and pops on within a few seconds, charging my laptop happens with my own charger plugged into it, and has the ports I needed. Inclusion of VGA seems odd, but I guess trying to appeal to what, the old school corporate projector crowd? And I have no need for ethernet (why is this on EVERY hub sold??). Solid, compact design, nice long detachable cord (as well as an extra short one), so as of now, the clear winner in the sub $100 usb-c hub crowd. Glad I finally found one that worked without forking out over $200 for a more robust desktop version.
