Easy to press and equally important, lean!
This garlic press is so much easier to use than my other OXO garlic press. In fact, so much so, that I just tossed the OXO tool.This press has a larger capacity for big cloves and really has excellent extraction of the garlic pulp, leaving only the skin behind. The press is so much better than mincing by hand as you don't end up with large pieces of garlic in a bite. Nice, sharp with even extraction. I think it is actually easier to use with my arthritic hands than the OXO designed to be easy for arthritic hands!I use a lot of garlic when cooking and have had many different presses over the years. The best one I ever had I purchased in Italy years go but it got misplaced in a move. This one is a lot like the one I got in Italy. Evenly minces the whole clove easily and easy to clean.Stainless steel, NOT aluminum, will not oxidize and should last for years. I think this tool will be a part of the family for years to come. Very well made, good hand "feel" and the cage that holds the cloves is on a separate hinge for easy and thorough cleaning. That was a constant problem with the OXO press as you could never get it really clean without using a dishwashing brush and even then, without being able to access both sides, there was always something stuck in there. This one has open access to "the clove cage" and rinsed off easily with warm water and dish soap and my bare hands.I am already loving this new press! Sturdy, well crafted, perfectly even minced pulp and easy to clean. Good find!I received a discount for my honest review of this product.But I would tell you if I hated it. Because I'm authentic.
