Q: What's the voltage rating of this USB Cable?

I have used this cable in my car's stereo USB input. One Type A connector was plugged into the USB port and the other connector to a cigarette lighter USB power adapter. The USB device was a 320 GB 9mm, 2.5" hard drive. This cable should work fine for you as long as your device or computer's PORT provides ample power. However, there are two USB A type connectors in case a single port is underpowered. Depending on your device, I would be more concerned about the power provided by the USB port than the cable.To the more technical aspects of your question:The specification on the Amazon product pages states: "Compliant with USB 2.0 wire specifications". No, the second USB Type A plug is for power only. The only reason you would use this cable is to boost the power available going to the mini plug. Apart from extra power think of this as a standard USB cable.

You would never use a wall outlet directly with these cords. Use your computer USB ports or use a powered USB hub that does plug into a wall socket.
