Amlactin Intensive Healing Cream

Like another reviewer, I've lost a lot of weight and heard about this cream as a means to combat saggy post-weight-loss skin. Honestly, I don't feel like it's made a bit of difference on that front. Guess that was a bit of wishful thinking. But I'm still giving the product five stars, because it works so well in other ways! It has absolutely revolutionized the skin on a few areas of my body. I had cystic acne on my chest for years, and though the acne is now cleared up, the skin left behind was awful - bumpy and red and coarse. I'd be embarrassed to have my top button undone, you know? But now I slather some of this stuff on before bed a couple of times a week, and that's all it takes. My chest skin is soft and clear, and I can wear a necklace with a v-neck shirt and feel totally confident. And now that I've gotten such good results with my chest, I've expanded use to my neck, my dry elbows, and the "chicken skin" on my upper arms. All of these spots have noticeably better texture now. It's easy to apply, not sticky, and doesn't have any kind of smell that bothers me. It does sometimes sting a very little bit, but never leaves any redness behind. I just tell myself that means it's working. This is easily one of the best "bang for my buck" products I have ever purchased, even if I bought it for the wrong reason initially. Five stars!

After decades with dry skin, thick callouses and 'chicken skin' (aka hyperkeratosis pillars), I learned about this fabulous lotion in medical school. Hallelujah! Even intermittent use makes my skin so moist and soft. It has helped my hang nails, the chicken skin on my arms and thighs, the thick skin I get on elbows and feet, the dry ragged skin around my nails, and the dry flakey skin on my shins. I even use it on my face at night and it gives this 66yo the skin of a baby when I wake! This powerful lactic acid cream makes excess keratin melt away. I strongly recommend it to my patients, my family and my friends who have any such problems. A few characteristics to be aware of: 1) It smells 'tangy' when applying but that dissipates. 2) I don't use it on my body at bedtime because then I stick to the sheets (except on my face) 3) If you have any breaks in the skin it will sting when applying. That dissipates too. This product is so worth the money. I find I use about one tub per month.

Summary: Keeps my feet perfectly smooth (along with other products), the smell is bad but improved in my second jar. The cream is a wonderful thick, moisturizing consistency and the label sticker on the jar removes cleanly and easily. Before this product I had dry feet that were mildly cracked and needed constant upkeep to be just okay. My feet would often scratch my skin in bed at night. I'm a barefoot/sandals person when the environment is appropriate so keeping my feet looking smooth is high priory in my grooming routine. I have always applied body creams from head to toe daily but even that plus heavy duty foot stones, scrapers, electric devices, pedicures, chemical peels, kerasol, urea cream, etc the dryness would always come back. I tried the babyfoot chemical peel and that makes my feet perfect but only temporarily and with a lot of time, hassle and money. I wanted my feet to stay PERFECTLY SMOOTH with MINIMAL EFFORT. In an attempt to prolong the results of babyfoot peel I purchased AmLactin and my feet have been perfect ever since. I have NEVER had to do any scrubbing or soaking to keep my feet smooth in the past 8 months. At first, I had some dead skin on my heel that peeled off after a few days of using the cream and since then I haven't had any big dead skin patches. When I do it's because I have skipped a few nights of application or I’ve done a lot of walking. To clarify, this cream works for me in conjunction with other products. - I started off with a baby foot chemical peel - a few nights a week I use the Freeman Flirty Feet instant foot peel spray (or whenever I remember/notice any dead skin buildup.) - I use AmLactin 5-7 nights a week. Usually with socks. Your results may vary depending on the initial condition of your feet and your routine. Notes on the smell: I first purchased this about 8 months ago and the jar had the ammonia smell plus that strong syrupy smell, it was not great. I almost switched to a different brand when I ran out but I didn’t want to risk the results. I just opened my new jar and the syrup smell is gone! At first sniff you can’t smell anything but once I rubbed it in I noticed the light ammonia smell on my hands. But it’s no big deal and this is a massive improvement. And I noticed my feet tingling after applying my new jar so I wonder if the effectiveness is different.

This actually hydrates your skin and leaves it feeling smooth. It has no scent and is not greasy at all. Works great!

Recently went to a dermatologist because of bumps that were showing up on my arms, legs and feet. Although most bumps were so small there were a lot in clusters. They said I had Seborrheic keratosis which apparently comes with age. The prescribed this cream and it really works! I now use it on my heals and elbows. It kind of has a funky smell at first, but doesn't last. Would totally recommend.

I’m not very consistent with applying creams to my thin dry skin. I find it is the same day after day regardless of how much I use. However, this thick product has resulted in a dramatic change. Because of this I don’t hesitate to apply each day. I am generous and attempt to rub it in until it’s absorbed. My skin is much more hydrated and will continue to be like that for several days if I don’t reapply. My clothes aren’t full of dandruff and I don’t itch as much. So much better than the highly touted creams. And, because it works, I’m much more motivated to apply it. I’ve finished the first jar, now working on the 2nd. I’ll be ready for the winter.

Between the heat, dry air, and constantly being active, I’ve tried plenty of products that promised relief but mostly delivered temporary results. What stood out with this product was that it felt different from a standard lotion. It seemed to do more than simply sit on the surface of the skin. After using it consistently, I noticed my skin felt smoother, more hydrated, and much less rough over time. I also appreciated that it seemed to help without requiring constant exfoliating or additional steps. The texture took a little getting used to at first, but the results made that adjustment easy. Sometimes products aimed at very dry skin either feel overly greasy or too light to actually help, and this found a good middle ground. Five stars. Effective, long-lasting, and one of the better products I’ve used for extremely dry skin.

Maravilla de crema! La compre para mejorar mi queratosis. No le tenía mucha fe porque utilice por AÑOS la de Cera Ve y jamás vi resultados. Con esta crema vi muchísimo avance, tengo la piel más lisa y suave. Vi resultados claros hasta el segundo frasco (sí, es un proceso LENTO) pero no me importa, mientras haya mejora. Ya voy por mi tercer bote y no creo cambiarla. Soy de tez morena, piel sensible pero grasa. La crema se siente mucho más ligera que la de CERAVE y a mí me dura como 1 mes aplicando una vez al día a diario.
