These are great mugs! They are quite big so plenty large for a cappuccino or a generous amount of brewed tea. They do keep your drink warmer for longer and especially if you preheat the mug with hot water just prior to making your cappuccino or tea although prewarming for the tea would probably not be as needed for a black or white tea which are brewed at higher temps. The herbal teas and green teas might benefit from prewarming the cups since the green teas are brewed at lower temps and herbal teas are brewed for a longer time and there’s more likelihood that your drink will cool down too much. Yes these seem delicate and they are due to the glass construction but they are really pretty, especially when holding a cappuccino with all the pretty foam 🤩. It’s widely suggested to use a wooden/nonmetal spoon for stirring in glass vessels so as to avoid creating microfractures in the glass. Amazon sells nice inexpensive little bamboo spoons (see my review for those too haha)

For years I've used a set of the smaller sizes of the Bodum Bistro line to use for espresso and love them for their lightness, cool factor, and insulating effect, keeping my coffee hotter longer than a single wall cup. With working from home now I drink more coffee here and my regular 8oz mugs just didn't cut it, having to get up for another cup or being too busy to go without. Bistro 14oz mug to the rescue. These mugs are no shrinking violets. They have presence. If you have small hands using the the handle alon will be awkward when the mug is full. You'll want to two hand it for sure. As you drink down, back to the handle-only. Like the other Bistro line glasses these are light for their size. And insulate well. I estimate my coffee stays warmer for at least 10-15 min longer than a single wall mug. While they look fragile they feel sturdy, just like my smaller ones. A word of caution though. I don't know if the mugs I recieved were just a bad batch, or the 14oz is harder to make, or what, but 2 of the 4 I ordered came scuffed or scratched on the outside. Amazon exchanged them but then the replacements were defective too. One had a long scratch inside the double wall (I could see it but not feel it). The other mug had air bubbles in the lip. Thankfully, 3rd time was a charm and that set was perfect. I was a bit shocked at the poor quality control on these since Bodum is a premium brand, and these are mouth-blown. But happy it worked out. Even with these troubles I have no regrets sticking with the Bodum brand. I know I'll enjoy these for years. They are a great "have" for any coffee fan -- though they are great for any kind of hot drink.

My replacement mugs arrived in perfect shape. These mugs are perfect for tea or coffee because they keep my drink a perfect temp while have my morning coffee and do my morning puzzles.

Perfect size for most daily coffee drinks. Double walled glass works well to maintain hot contents for much longer and also from the outside of the cup burning your hands. Glass is thicker than expected and high quality too. Will be buying more.

Update 6/28/26: Changing my review from 4 stars to 1 star because Amazon is the worst retailer to purchase these kinds of fragile items from. I ordered these again and I was shipped them in a box with NO protection at all. The only protection was in the original manufacturing box from Bodum which obviously did nothing to prevent it from bouncing around in Amazon's box. Now I have to send back these broken glasses instead of showing a photo of them and getting refunded when Amazon could not be bothered to do use any shipping wrap for delicate glasses. This is the last time I will ever order anything fragile from Amazon. They are not the company they used to be. The Bodum double wall latte mug is ugly, squat with a small handle and has way too much writing etched into the cup. The horrible etched writing includes a website hyperlink address and B.S. about a patent and being designed in Switzerland (It is ACTUALLY made in China!) The Bodum cup has a large silicone cover over the blow hole. It is noticeably heavier than other double wall glasses I have purchased, but it is not more durable. In 2 years I have broken 3 glasses. This is my 3rd time buying them. So why do keep buying them? For the low form factor that fits perfectly under all espresso machines, no other double walled glass I've tried holds 15 oz like this. This allows me to make extra large cappuccinos so I find myself using them despite owning much nicer glasses from Godinger that have proven more durable despite looking more fragile. I always wash my glasses in the dishwasher and consider these double wall mugs a somewhat disposable vanity. None of them really last in the dishwasher but it is way more convenient. For $30 a year, my cappuccino looks beautiful and stays warm. If you don't like super sized cappuccinos, I would recommend something more tasteful, however.

It's the perfect size for coffee, matcha lattes, or any drink! However, it breaks very easily—I accidentally pushed it into the sink drain hole, and it shattered instantly. Pros: - Looks great - Keeps drinks hot or cold - Double insulated, yet easy to drink from Cons: - Scratches very easily - Can break easily depending on where it’s accidentally hit - Moisture can build up inside due to the bottom silicone cap - Compare to metal insulated cups, it does not keep the temperature well If you're looking for a nice coffee cup, this is the one! Just be careful when handling it—it’s quite fragile. Other than that, I use it every day and absolutely love it.

I originally had purchased some cheap latte stoneware cups at Target thinking that a cup is just a cup and it didn't really matter much. Boy... was I wrong! After spending significant time making cafe lattes in the morning, I kept noticing that my lattes would get cold very quickly. It was incredibly frustrating. I soon realized my cheap Target cups were just radiating heat. You could feel all the heat loss on the outside of the cup. So, I did some research online and saw that these Bodum cups were highly rated by many users. And although they were significantly more expensive than my cheap cups, I gave them a try. All I can say is... Wow! These are a total game changer! Night and day. My lattes stay hot for an incredibly long time. Even when I'm close to finishing the drink, with very little coffee at the bottom of the cup, it's still hot. And the telltale sign is that you don't feel heat radiation on the outside of these cups. The double wall keeps the liquid hot for a very long time. The manufacturing quality of these cups is very good. They are made from borosilicate glass which is much more durable glass. It is the same glass used in medical grade flasks and beakers. Apparently even Pyrex used to make their measuring cups out of this more durable glass until they decided to cut costs and go with a cheaper glass (borosilicate glass is more expensive). But, these cups are definitely worth the extra cost!... In this case you get what you pay for. However, as with any glass cup, I'm sure they can break if you get too rough with them or put them in the dishwasher next to/touching other glasses. For that reason I always hand wash mine. Also, Bodum recommends that you don't use metal spoons with them (prevents them from cracking/breaking). So, I picked up a box of plastic spoons at Costco to use with them. You can also find small wooden spoons on Amazon that I'm sure would work well too. Again, these are after all made of glass (even if it is a much stronger glass) and glass can break. But as long as you don't get too rough with them and don't stack them on other dishes in the dishwasher, they should last a very long time. Excellent cups!!

These glasses are great! I can't believe I had an espresso machine without owning these glasses. Pros: Great quality Aesthetically great Keeps drink hot for a long time Cool to the touch on the outside Feels nice on your lips while drinking Cons: Price (but you get what you pay for) Feels very light (You get used to it though) Must wash by hand if you don't want to get a film inside I use these whenever I make lattes or cappuccinos and they're perfect! I had a friend come over who tried one of the drinks from these glasses and they loved it. They said it was better than the ones that they made at home. They put too much milk in theirs at home and this cup prevents that. It makes the perfect drink every time. It looks amazing and everyone is impressed when I serve their drink in one of these glasses. Although they are pricey for a set of two, it is well worth the money. It really improves your cafe experience!

Much better quality than cheaper double-wall mugs. Fits in the espresso machine. It's a bit more expensive than some other double-wall mugs, but many of the cheaper ones are not dishwasher-safe. I have two friends who actually cracked such mugs from the hot water in the dishwasher. What's the point of having coffee mugs that you have to hand-wash? These have silicon membrane in the bottom to breathe, so the expanding air inside won't crack the glass. Also the borosilicate glass is strong enough to withstand temperature changes. At least so far so good - we've used the 4 mugs for a few weeks, dishwashing them almost every day, and so far no cracks. They keep the coffee hot really well and the size is huge, just like I like it, while they still fit under the espresso machine nozzle. Worth the money I think. Unlike the cheaper versions that crack and have to be hand-washed. Update: It's almost 2 years since I bought 4 mugs. They are still all intact, despite dishwasher working on them almost every night. We use them every day. So still 5-star... I think when they go - it's because we break them, not because they wear down... It's already longer than most mugs last in out house :-)
