My First Pickup Installation
I decided to upgrade the pickups on my Jackson JS32 King V and after a lot of research, I went for the gusto and got the EMG 81/85 combo. Since this was my first pickup installation, I chose EMG not only because they're the standard in metal, but because they seemed easiest to install and came with the solderless install system - which includes tone and volume pots, an output jack, all cables and a cool pickup buss that everything plugs into. It also came with easy to follow instructions for just about any guitar setup. No soldering was involved for installation but some was required to remove the existing components first. Once all the work was done, I played it and noticed BIG differences! With distortion, the EMG's have high gain and sustain - even at medium volume - with almost no noise. On clean, they have a rich warm jazzy tone. I have to say I'm satisfied!I upgraded my first guitar successfully with the best pickups on the market - EMG's!

Love the EMG 81 in the bridge of my guitars, it's a good sounding pick up and it's easy to install.

Ignorance is bliss.
I've used Seymour Duncan humbuckers and Fender single coils my whole life because I was convinced that active pickups are inferior to passive pickups, after reading through online forums. I am glad I gave these a shot because, turns out, I really love these. It is so easy to get great metal tones out of this pickup and it is so easy to record them.Onto the next adventure, Fishman Fluence!

Great sound, easy install, no bridge ground required.
Classic, and still relevant.Easiest to install, requires no solder joints.Emg active pickups do not require a bridge ground, so if you don’t have one or it fell off, you don’t have to risk knocking out the bridge anchors!

best pickup i have ever owned !!!
simply awesome !!! this is the best pickup i have ever owned ! it was the easiest install ever , clean sound is perfect . i got this for low C tuning , and it is epic ! the low end on this is monster !! i installed both volume and tone pots , the installation instructions give you the choice ( for single pickup as well as two pick up config. ) also my first EMG , i will never use any other pickup , have ordered two bass pick ups as well . the price was excellent !!! , music store 7 mi. from my house said would under cut anything online , needless to say , they would not . if you want the heaviest sound or a jazz or country vibe , this is a great choice !!! NOTE : any of that like a tight palm mute type of heavy sound , buy this !!! the 81 !!!

All emg products are worth it
It’s a classic emg 81. Metallica, Zakk Wylde and other bands have been using since the 90s. Just buy it and put it in the bridge of your guitar already. Emg comes with Solderless installation. Makes it easy but just go to YouTube and take your time if you’ve never done it before. I have a Wylde Audio Bullseye Les Paul “Odin” that has 81 85 Emgs. Have a epiphone with 57/66 Emgs. I got this red 81 emg for the bridge on my cheap Dean V and a 85 in the neck just for a cheap guitar to jam on. And have a LTD Explorer with. A 81 60 combo Emgs and a LTD Viper 401 SG type model with EMG HET SET!Anyways point is. Any passive or active Emgs you can never go wrong. Just buy the thing and see yourself
