Real Sterling - Acid Test Results!
I read the customer reviews and was really surprised by how few people seem to know how to check for silver content. Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% whatever metal the manufacturer feels like adding. This usually includes copper, steel, nickel, etc. This means real sterling can be somewhat magnetic. The magnet test is definitely not a reliable or good way to test! The only for sure way is nitric acid. I suggest testing 2-3 times to verify results which is exactly what I did! I’ve tested thousands of sterling silver pieces as part of my vintage jewelry and scrap business.I acid tested these earrings and they’re sterling silver. They’re the real deal! They turn bright red when exposed to nitric acid. Acid tests also showed they have high copper content which explains why people have allergic reactions to them. They’re sterling silver, but low quality sterling. To customers that left reviews that these can’t be sterling because they caused allergic reactions... of course you don’t react to all sterling silver the same. 7.5% is a gambled mix of junk metal from China. If your really sensitive you should buy 99.9% sterling silver hooks. You’ll have to pay more, but you’ll get a purer product. Sterling silver isn’t a guarantee for people with allergies. As a general thought I think anyone that’s buying mass amounts of sterling hooks should be testing them before reselling. Nitric acid is cheap — you can buy it on Amazon for less than $10. That way you can ensure you’re not getting ripped off with fake silver and/or passing fakes to other people. Be a conscious and skeptical consumer! As far as the functionality I think these earring hooks will work well. I bought them to repair vintage sets and I have no problem selling them to my customers.

Decent for the price
I purchased these for novelty earrings that I make for craft shows. I know lots of folks have metal allergies like I do .. so I wanted good sterling silver hooks for an economical price. These fit that bill. I usually know within a very short amount of time if I'm going to be allergic to the metal. I had no issues at all. As for quality, 2 out of 50 hooks had quality issues. The loop on both were damaged and the metal discolored (copper colored). Previous reviewers mentioned using a magnet to test the silver content. Mine passed as none of them were attracted to the magnet .. even the damaged ones. So, take that as you may. lol I'll most likely purchase again.

NOT sterling silver as labeled
This is a counterfeit product! It's sold as sterling silver, and even STAMPED with the 925 mark - but it is silver plated, not solid sterling. Thankfully, even the plating was done poorly and flaked off immediately to expose the product. The lengths that they have gone to pass off a cheap product and make a quick buck is shocking. I only purchased these to have emergency product on hand for my jewelry business - and thank goodness I noticed this product was garbage before selling earrings to a customer with sensitive skin. It may be too late for me to get money back, but be warned these earring wires are illegitimate.

Good but can be better
I don’t know if I want to rate it 3 or 4. I think I would rate it 4 for the price it is available at. These are the cheapest in the market and I am saying so because I have researched for months and months. This is the best price you could get. But, for what? The earwires are kind of small - I would say perfect for kids. Not many adults would want to use this size of earwires. They are on a thinner side, I guess 22 gauge or even thinner. I really wish they were 2-3 mm longer and 1-2 mm wider. That would have made them almost 5 Star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️. If the manufacturer reads my review, please incorporate the changes and may be increase the price a little and feel free to Contact me for any questions you may have :)

These earring hooks arrived promptly in easy to open packing
These earring hooks arrived promptly in easy to open packing, and a ziplock bag to keep them together. They are shiny, and made of thin-gauge metal; I bought them because they are dipped in .925 silver.I have made one set of earrings with them so far. They are easy to make earrings with, since they have a loop for attaching a jump ring. I ruined one of the hooks in trying to make a pair, as they are thin and therefore pliable, but I was using too much pressure with my pliers and had left marks on the metal accidentally. On a more positive note, I have plenty of them left to make more earrings. (They make for thoughtful gifts for the women in your life.)

Nice but very small
Nice, decent quality, very pretty, but they are small. On most hooks I've used, the length of the hook is about 1 inch. These ones are a maybe 2/3 an inch long, and the loop itself is a smaller diameter. I make earrings while these hooks are nice looking, I'm concerned that the small size might result in some people losing an earring now and then. They would be very good for children who are old enough to wear dangling earrings, or for people with very petite ears

Not very strong. Bends easily.
These are great earring hooks. The only issue I had was they are not very strong. Very soft metal and bends very easily.
