UPDATE: I'm bumping-up the STAR rating to 5 from 4 [the net has far exceeded expectations]
UPDATE: [04/05/2026] After about 3 years of owning this net, I am pleased to report that the net is still going strong. As I mentioned previously, I was a bit concerned about the durability of the net because its construction didnโt appear all that solid. Clearly that assessment was incorrect. Yes, the net is a lot smaller than I needed for the size of pool I have, but it has been a real workhorse for me: reliable and surprisingly durable despite heavy use, pool chemicals, and the unforgiving Texas summer sun. This Sepetrel leaf rake net has been an excellent value and has far exceeded my expectations. I am bumping my rating up to FIVE (5) Stars because it is well deserved. Note: I have very recently invested in a set of ProTuff pool cleaning equipment because I have such a large pool, and it is outstanding (although it is far more expensive). With that said, I regularly use my Sepetrel net and brush because itโs lighter weight and easier to maneuver in the smaller corners and crevices of my very large pool, especially for light maintenance work where thereโs not a lot of leaves, silt, or a big bunch of floating debris to clear out. So itโs nice to have both sets of tools, and, for most pool owners who donโt have to maintain a 25,000 gallon pool with a 10-11โ deep end, youโre going to be very satisfied with the Sepetrel gear, especially at its price point. UPDATE: [11/14/2024] So, I'm almost 18 months into owning this Sepetrel Net and I've been pleasantly surprised at its durability. In my original review I expressed concern that the net's construction did not inspire confidence. Sometimes it's nice to be wrong. I still think this net is on the smaller side, but it works and has held up to regular use in a 25,000 gallon pool with an 11' deep end. I just wanted to be fair here and give credit for good quality where it is due. As I've said, it has gotten me by. My plan is to eventually purchase the ProTuff line of pool-cleaning equipment, which is incredibly well-made (my brother owns a set) and comes with a lifetime warranty and unlimited free replacements for things that break or wear-out. The ProTuff stuff is considerably more expensive, so I've gotten by with the much more affordable Sepetrel items. If you're budget conscious and not made-of-money, the Sepetrel line is good quality for a fair price (at least that has been my experience over nearly a year-and-a-half). ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought both the brush and the net, but I am reviewing them separately. I'll review the net here. Like the brush, it's considerably smaller than I expected. It's my fault for not looking closely at the measurements of the net before I bought it. You snooze, you lose... The construction of the net doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence, but only time will tell. Most nets have a metal frame with the net fastened to the frame with rivets and a plastic or polymer frame rim cover. This one appears to be solid plastic or polymer, though it is possible that it has a wire or metal reinforcement of some kind embedded in it. Can't tell right now. The net itself seems is single-ply like most nets and the material seems similar to others. The net looks like it is hot-melted into the plastic frame and if it is I have no idea how that's going to hold up over time compared to regular pool nets. I'm concerned about abrasion resistance and how exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals may affect the net. I won't know until I use it for awhile, so I will and then I'll update this review down the line. Altogether, with the smaller size of the net and the questionable construction of it, it's hard to be too happy about buying it. But my old net was worn out, so I'll see how this one does while I look for a high-quality, durable, reasonably-priced full-size pool net. This one definitely isn't that...

This pool net is a BEAST
Iโve had mine over 2 years โ sun, rain, dragged it across the bottom of a rough concrete-lined pool (which, by the way, has eaten other tools alive) and this thing just shrugs it off. The net? Yeah, itโs got a few holes now, but still scoops like a champ. The frame? Solid. The net has never popped off the base โ and Iโve put it through serious abuse. One screw did rust and fall out (RIP little buddy), but the net still somehow stays attached. Itโs a little wobbly now, but it still works, which honestly just makes me respect it more. The net is HUGE. Big enough to scoop more leaves than your arms can carryโฆ and trust me, Iโve tried. I overloaded it so bad once the pole actually bent like a sad fishing rod โ thatโs a โme problemโ though, not the netโs fault. And it lives outside, full sun, all year. Two years later: still standing. Bottom line: If you want a pool net that survives child-level abuse from a fully grown adult โ this is it. Iโd buy it again without thinking.

Easy to use. Lasted 2-1/2 years in the Florida sun.
Lasted 2-1/2 years in the Florida sun before the plastic snapped. Net was still fine. I think that's all that can be expected. It worked great and was easy to use. I may buy another.

Reliable, Deep, and Built to Last
I recently moved, and after testing a few different pool nets at my previous home, this Sepetrel model was the only one I wanted for the new pool! This is my second time purchasing this exact skimmer, which should tell you everything you need to know about its durability and performance. The bright lime green frame is incredibly sturdy. Unlike cheaper nets that flex or snap when you're trying to scoop heavy, wet leaves from the bottom, this one holds its shape perfectly. The mesh bag is deep and wide. It allows you to clear a significant portion of the pool surface or floor before needing to empty it, which saves a lot of time and effort during a deep clean. The netting is fine enough to catch small debris and bugs, but it doesn't create so much drag in the water that it becomes difficult to maneuver. Just a heads-up for new buyers: the pole is not included. This is just the head and the net.

Great product, reasonable price
Put this net to the test this morning and it did very well. Got the leaves but seemed to be picking up some of the finer debris in the pool as well.

Holes are too large to pick up sand or gravel
I wanted to love this, but the holes in the netting are too large to pick up sand or gravel. This is problem because we use pool salt and there is some sand or gravel mixed in with the salt. And the netting ripped after only a few months.

Works as advertised!
I used this dip net to clean the leaves from the bottom of my in-ground pool. The net is a great size which means less trips up and down. Highly recommend this product if you have a mess on the bottom of your pool after the winter storms.

way better than a flat skimmer
doesnt pick up as fine of material as a flat skimmer but if you want to clean the bigger debris fast this is it. I find myself using this 9/10 times.
