There are a lot of solid reviews for this product, but I'm writing this one in case you need just one more opinion before you make up your mind ;) These headphones sound excellent. The bass is punchy, but tight, and they serve up great detail. The soundstage is not super wide, but it's still good enough to be able to locate the instruments with some separation. As far as closed-back headphones go, these are the best I have heard, but let me offer comparisons with a couple of popular cans as reference: - Bose QC25 sounds muddy and underwhelming by comparison to these (and those are really good headphones already with a reasonably unadulterated freq response). - Sony WH-1000XM3 sounds way too bass heavy and overpowering at the expense of detail (and I'll be honest, I have never liked them) The comfort is also great with the SRH1540s. I haven't had any issues with the clamping force as some of the other reviews seem to suggest. Top tip: I learned from a friend that you can get spare parts for them by emailing Shure Support for very reasonable prices (even components that they don't list on their website like the headband), but they come with a spare cable and a spare set of ear cushions so it'll probably be many years before you need to replace anything. Another top tip: wait for a sale. These do go on sale. I got my pair on Prime Day for $350 directly from Amazon - I had had them on my Wish List for 6 months and don't think I would have ever bought them for the full retail price. But yeah, I suggest you wait for a sale, too, because while these are great headphones, I don't think they are blow-your-mind-for-$500 good. You know? I also own a pair of Hifiman Ananda that you can pick up on the preowned market for just under $500 and those serve up 20% more detail, crisper sound that sparkles (in a good way), far superior soundstage, and that open and airy feel that you only get from open-back headphones. The only thing that the SRH1540 does better is bass, which is definitely punchier and still equally clean and tight. But otherwise, the Ananda is a superior pair of headphones that better justifies paying $500 for them. One down-side I've found with the SRH1540s is that there is A LOT of mechanical cable noise. What I mean is that when you put the headphones on, you can hear the cable brushing against your clothes, against the desk, basically any movement of the cable at all and you'll hear it in your cans. I have found no solution to this other than to raise the volume to drown it out (though still at 20% volume on a Dragonfly Cobalt with a laptop as the source). I suspect that is because the materials used to build the cans are very stiff, which is great for frequency response, but also means it'll transmit mechanical noise without much dampening. In closing, I really like these headphones and plan to keep them, but for anyone interested I would suggest to wait for a sale because they are really good, but $500 is too much to ask for them. Also, please remember two things: 1) that sound is an immensely subjective thing, and your opinion is the only one that matters - and definitely don't rank things based on the price tag. And 2) whatever headphones you end up buying, give them two weeks for your ears to adapt to them. If you still don't like them after 2 weeks, then they are definitely not for you and you can return them and gleefully continue your search along the joyful journey that is being a novice audiophile. :)

I feel like the price for this headphone was really worth it. Nothing really beats this headphone at this price range. Pair it with a dac/Sound blaster, sounds just like smoking hot cheese. Harmonic distortion is also suprisingly low. I dont get what is up with this reviews on here but man this headphones are smoking some juice juice right now. Just what I would expect from shure. The product was shurely sure. Nothing of those unnecessary excessive bass and with much more clarity, as well as impressive soundstage despite closed back. I was not expecting these. Think of your headphone as a gateway or a conductor, your dac/sound amp will be your mastermind. Shure does a great job by choosing neutrality here, although not many people appreciates it, I am one of the rare few that does appreciate this quality. Ps, I already had quite high hopes for this headphones because of your microphones. Shure does not disappoint and last but not least they give a shure guarantee. I have no complains.

Sono un appassionato di musica praticamente da quando sono nato(38 anni fa) e queste sono le prime cuffie che acquisto sopra i 400 euro. Ho avuto tante cuffie di varie marche, alcune sono ritenute delle Best Buy nella loro corrispettiva fascia di prezzo. HD560s , Akg K371, AT MSR7, Hifi Man Sundara. Ho dovuto sostituire le Sundara perché necessitavo di una cuffia Chiusa e non mi fa rimpiangere per niente la Magnetoplanare. C’è tutto, Dettaglio, Soundstage , timbrica molto naturale. Rispetto alle Sundara, al mio orecchio , sono più divertenti. in basso scendono di più. Non hanno il punch delle Magnetoplanari ma scendono maggiormente e il basso rimane comunque molto dettagliato. Questo dona corpo a tutte le canzoni. Al primo ascolto potrebbe risultare debordante ma dopo un po’ di rodaggio(della cuffia o delle orecchie non so)tutta risulta più equilibrato. Il prezzo è sicuramente alto ma vista la qualità sonora , la costruzione della cuffia, gli accessori , ci si sente ampiamente ripagati dalla casa produttrice. Per non parlare della leggerezza e della comodità. Questo è il mio end game delle cuffie chiuse. Salendo di prezzo probabilmente si troverà di meglio su alcuni parametri, ma al momento è la migliore “all around” mai sentita . Consigliatissima.

Prima di spendere una cifra importante per queste cuffie, ho letto e visto video recensioni, poi ho deciso di procedere con l'acquisto, prima di queste ho posseduto molto cuffie, visto che sono un appassionato di musica. Tanto per citare alcune cuffie possedute Philips fidelio x2 sennheiser hd569 massdrop hd 58x audio technica mrs7b beyerdynamic dt770 ed altre. Bene per me queste al di là del prezzo, sono migliori delle altre e non di poco. Il confronto non regge minimamente con le altre, la srh1540 vince su tutto. Costano ma valgono tutto il prezzo.
