CAIG Labs., ROSIN SOLDERING FLUX (Electrical), Jar, 56 grams, Pack of 1

Had the Radio Shack branded version bought in the 90s and couldn't find it anymore when I lost it in a move. Tried many others for a few years but once I found the OG version searching one night, I gave them away. The smell, the stickiness, the accidental spill from leaving it on its side and not knowing, wondering how you got it on your desk, all of it was welcomed back once I got this. When you can't get solder to stick, use this and you will have no issues. It does require clean-up but for how well it performs it is worth it. I have ended up with some very professional solder joints. It is also the only flux I use when joining two stranded wires together with a fan and twist joint. It helps the solder to penetrate the joint quickly allowing you to control the solder pool so it's not larger than the wire sheath diameter.

Works great

I've never previously used products like then when soldering wires. As a result, I've had difficulty getting the solder to stick to my targets: the solder just beads up on the tip of my soldering iron and it takes repeated attempts to get the solder to go where I want it to go. With this product, when I apply the solder wire to the tip of my iron and hold it close the the wires that I want to solder, the solder flows easily onto my targets. What a savings in effort and time. I'm sure people that use this product probably wonder why I haven't been up to speed. Be advised that this product is specific for soldering electronic things. You cannot and must not use the common flux that is used for soldering pipes.

Man I really missed having a bit of flux on the workbench. There are times when rosin core solder is not enough flux.

It works perfectly

Very pleased with this; A dip in this makes solder wick easily into stranded wire when tinning, leaving a well-tinned but not overly saturated wire ready for soldering into terminals. Wire does need a proper cleaning following use as it can be sticky. Also, I may consider purchasing the no-clean formula but I still highly recommend. Lastly, I’ve written to Craig with support questions on other products offered and they’ve been very helpful. A trustworthy brand.

I recently replaced the voice chips on my roland juno 106 which required desoldering. Liberal use of this stuff and a desoldering station allowed the swap to be almost completely painless. I cant believe I used to use solder wick dry to desolder stuff and then wonder why I wasnt "any good" at it. FLUX is important. DO USE FLUX EARLY AND OFTEN. This is good flux to flux with.

flows very well, would definitely use this product again. Highly recommended

Like this very much

a decent quality soldering flux at a decent price

Good product
