Patriot Burst Elite SATA 3 240GB SSD 2.5" Solid State Drive

I upgraded to the Patriot Burst Elite 480GB SSD and it has made a noticeable difference in my system performance. Boot times are much faster and apps open almost instantly. I use it for gaming, photo editing, and everyday tasks and it handles everything smoothly. Installation was easy since it fits the standard 2.5 inch slot and worked right away without extra drivers. The drive stays cool under load and has been reliable with no errors or slowdowns weeks later. Overall this SSD offers solid speed and reliability without a high price tag. I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone looking to boost their PC or laptop performance.

I needed a reasonable sized SSD to instal Linux on and this fitted the bill perfectly. For the price it's amazing value and quality is as good as any other brand. It works as it should and will purchase again when I need another.

I bought this specifically as an internal drive for irregular backups and knew it wasn't going to be the fastest....but it didn`t need to be for this. I didn`t even bother doing any tests on it for speed at all, just a general health check after installing. It was a good price (I only needed a smaller capacity for this purpose) and it`s been in for a while now and I haven`t had any problems up to now.....fingers crossed. Reliability ? well, as with any SSD it`s a case of how long is a piece of string - it might last years or might die tomorrow, so impossible to say - I`m not familiar with the brand but couldn`t find any particularly negative reviews about it. I do notice it seems to run warmer than my others, whether this is due to the sensor being unreliable or what, I don`t know but it`s consistently showing as much warmer than the others - even directly behind the front internal cooling fans.

I bought this SSD to install into a cheap PC. By changing the old hard- drive to a MUCH faster solid state drive it really does bring life back into an old computer. The best thing about this SSD is the price. It's incredible how cheap they have become in the past few months. If you are looking to speed up your device for as little money as possible, this IS the product to buy. I have reviewed this 4 stars as the only negative comment I have to make is that I did notice Windows being a bit slower then when I was running it off a more expensive SATA SSD. However, I do recommend this product if your main focus is your budget.

Work well with the HD enclosure that bought at the same time ... Work perfectly and great value for the price.

*Update 14/3/25 Despite many attempts to contact the manufacturer regarding the drive dying after only 2 months of barely any use, I have been completely ignored at every turn, not a single response! So I must concur with my initial assessment and reiterate that under no circumstances would I recommend anyone purchase anything from this brand. Faults happen, nothing has a 0% failure rate, but to completely ignore a customer just because they have a faulty product, that's bad form in my book. I debated writing this review, but ultimately decided I would as a fair warning for other potential purchasers. I’ve had this drive for three months, it was used as a backup storage for my music files, and so being just for backup purposes wasn’t really used much beyond the initial files transfer. A few weeks ago however, despite being so new, and despite such little use, the drive has developed a fault. Although I can still get the drive to show up in explorer, that’s about the limit of its functionality. I was trying to transfer over a file, of around 300MB in size so it should have been lighting quick, and was informed by the file transfer process that it was going to take 2 hours 25 minutes. Surprised, I decided to let it continue, but after several hours and a reported transfer time of several days, I gave up. I tried several other transfers, of varying sizes, but got the same results. So I tried in a different computer and got the same results. I tried putting it in an external enclosure and tried transferring files with my Windows Laptop, my MacBook Pro and my Mac Mini. Each and every one had similarly ridiculous time estimates, followed by failure to transfer. Attempting to reformat the drive has made no difference to the results either, so it’s safe to say there is some fundamental fault with the drive. I took a chance on this brand, not being familiar with them but I wish I’d just stayed with one of my usual brands. For it to have failed so catastrophically, so soon, and with so little use is not a good sign and gives me zero confidence in the brand, which I will be avoiding in the future. I cannot in good conscience recommend that anyone purchases these products.

Worked on an old laptop that ran Win7, the added speed is much welcomed. No issues with drivers or performance. Works as it should.
