BistoBest Lamb Gravy - 200g

I purchase this to use in stews and shepherd's pie. I have to purchase it from the UK because what gets imported from Canada contains soy, to which I am severely allergic. This product has a great flavor and is handy when I do not have homemade stock. It is a bit thinner than American gravy, more like a sauce, but since I use barley in my stews and pies it works very well. I was surprised at the speed of delivery since it had to come through customs, I received it in about ten days. I try to keep it on hand and even with the extra cost added in for shipping I think it is a good value, lamb products are almost impossible to find in the US, most of us were not raised eating lamb.

My husband uses this when he makes Shepherds pie. Oh my goodness it comes out so good!! He uses ground lamb chopped onions and garlic, browns it in a frying pan. Then he makes up the gravy and adds it to the meat mixture. Puts it in a casserole dish adds corn and mashed potatoes. Cooks it a while in the oven and it comes out delicious!!!

It mixes easy and gives a thick tasty gravy that is just perfect for lamb. I usually love lamb enough to just use salt, but sometimes lamb is better than other times and sometimes I don't cook it right. So the gravy comes in handy quite a bit and it is very good, at least to me it is.

This adds a nice touch to gravies and meat dishes,but I would advise using one fourth of less of the amount you would think necessary at first,it's strong.

This gravy mix is so good. It has the rosemary and mint flavours that we in England associate with roast lamb. Also incredibly easy to make. Just 1-2 tablespoons and enough boiling water to get the thickness consistency you like. I love it!

Solved a big problem as to what to use for gravy with a roast lamb. It was delicious, especially after I added some mint jelly and the juices from the roast pan.
