Little Things (DVD)

I gave it a "high" two instead of a "minus" one, because of Denzel, but this story is short of content, which makes me wonder if the movie would have ever been cleared for DVD sales had it not been for Denzel. Denzel's character was vilified by the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department because he left that Department due to him having a divorce and a nervous break down. In addition to that, Denzel's character was always having delusions of seeing dead people come to life. The Los Angele Sheriffs Detective that he was helping goes on a trip with a serial killer suspect and does the digging for bodies himself, after the serial killer gives him a shovel. After he digs six empty holes, the serial killer somehow gets shot. The Detective and Denzel's character buried that guy in the desert and did not report it. There is no sensibility in any of this movie.

The story in this movie takes you nowhere. It basically shows the cycle repeating, of Baxter becoming Deke. They kill Albert but its doubtful he was the one who did the killing, so nothing is solved.

First I am 50/50 with Denzel Washington, this was a 50 on the great side. He was so good, just understated enough. Rami Malek, at first cocky and right and then calmed down to be competent and great. Finally Jared Leto, menacing from the get go, so very terrific. These 3 actors really carried this suspenseful film all the way. The other actors in this were good too but these guys make it their own. Not one moment of boredom, not one time when I looked away, they had me all the way. I loved this movie so I will not tell you anything about it, the direction is terrific too as is the scenery. Check it out for some great filmmaking.

I like Denzel movies, but I would rather see him in more action movies like the equalizer and equalizer 2. Overall it is a really good movie. Makes for a pretty good re-watch as well.

I really liked this movie. It was a terrific detective procedural with highly complex and flawed characters. The acting performances and by Rami Malek and Jared Leto were outstanding, and of course any movie with the great Denzel Washington is a zenith performance guaranteed. That said, this is not the type of movie I am ever going to watch again so it will probably sit in my library never to be seen again. I would not recommend the purchase unless you are a big fan of Denzel Washington or you can purchase for under $10.00

A dark and atmospheric crime thriller that’s superbly acted by the cast especially Jared Leto who’s very terrifying as Albert Sparma. I wish he has more scenes though, because the movie comes more alive when he’s on screen. Thomas Newman’s musical scoring is also great! My only problem is the film editing, there’s some weird editing in some scenes especially when the characters are talking to each other.

Loved the suspense. Denzel and Rami made a really good team. Didn’t see the ending coming.

Enjoyed this movie. I am a Rami Malek fan and found this DVD to be right up his alley. It waskind of complicated at times but it was engaging and kept my interest. Several ways to view theending.
