A Court of Thorns and Roses Hardcover Box Set

A read these books on my kindle but had to have the boxed set for my library. I thoroughly enjoyed each book individually, and can't recommend the entire series strongly enough. I finished the entire five-book A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas and I can honestly say this became one of the most immersive fantasy worlds I’ve read in years. What begins as a Beauty and the Beast-inspired fantasy quickly evolves into something much larger — political intrigue, war, found family, trauma, healing, sacrifice, and some of the most emotionally satisfying character arcs I’ve encountered in fantasy romance. Each book expands the world in ways that feel richer and more dangerous, while still keeping the emotional core deeply personal. The strength of this series is not just the romance — although the chemistry and tension are exceptional — it’s the way the characters evolve through grief, power, loyalty, and survival. The friendships and chosen family dynamics were just as compelling to me as the romantic relationships. I became completely invested in these characters. The writing is cinematic and addictive. There were moments that genuinely shocked me, scenes that made me emotional, and chapters I stayed up far too late reading because I couldn’t stop. The pacing across the series builds beautifully, especially from book two onward, where the story truly becomes unforgettable. If you enjoy fantasy with strong heroines, morally gray characters, political tension, emotional depth, romance, and high stakes, this series absolutely lives up to the hype. By the end, it felt less like finishing a book series and more like leaving behind a world I had lived inside for weeks. Highly recommended for fans of epic fantasy romance.

The packaging was excellent, and every book arrived without any dents, scratches, bent corners, or damage. The sets are stunning in person—the covers, artwork, and overall quality exceeded my expectations. Shipping was smooth, and everything arrived exactly as described. What makes this purchase even more special is how incredible these series are. ACOTAR is captivating, emotional, and impossible to put down, while Throne of Glass is an epic adventure filled with unforgettable characters, twists, and world-building. Every book keeps you wanting to read just one more chapter! As an international buyer, I was a little nervous about ordering collector’s editions from overseas, but they arrived looking brand new and were very well protected throughout the journey. If you like spicy romance novels and you like high fantasy novels, you will like this series. It is an adult series for adult themes and adult scenes, not just spice, but also gore/war/torture, and that is important to note. This series has its own magic system and mythologies, and is connected to other universes of the author including Crescent City and Throne of Glass but can be read on its own. I think it is a really good series. SPOILERS (not heavy spoilers but will talk about things which happen in the book in a general sense) for conversation about feminism/fascism/mental illness. Many people want a high fantasy series which is feminist in nature and the male love interests are feminist, this is not that kind of book. It definitely has feminist undertones and female empowerment undertones, it is written by a female author which historically high-fantasy books in a female lens have been shunned so I prefer to support female authors, but the love interest does many things which are not feminist. The male love interest in this book drugs her and dances inappropriately with her, and then claims there was no other way to make the villain think he didn’t care about the protagonist and put her in danger. That is pretty unbelievable, there are a million other options that do not include drugging someone in that situation. The male love interest “rescues” the protagonist and brings her to a place which only his friends and family, for hundreds of years of relational ties, are. This technically is a social isolation happening. This is apparent when 5 books later the love interest is not only still lying to the protagonist, but getting all the friends and family to lie for him about something that directly and drastically affects her life. She technically is supposed to be the same level of power that he is, but it is very clear that was a stunt to show symbolically how much he cared for her. Because if she truly had the same power as him then the friends and family would not have lied like that, the same way they would not have lied to him. The other thing about that is she was raised to her status without any well learned political or historical education of the people she is ruling, giving the male love interest good reason to be able to over-ride anything she put into place, and not giving her enough knowledge to truly do her job. What also goes along with this is that all education on those political historical topics will have to come through him or people whom he is employing/has these strong ties with. There is a race of people which the love interest rules over who are physically and sexually abusing females, and neglecting/abusing their male children to be warriors. The love interest claims to have put laws into place to prevent this, however, he does not enforce them. Similar to how he symbolically gave the protagonist a position of power, he seemed to have symbolically put a feminist law into place but then not follow through. It is claimed the abuse they are facing is culture, and to give the males more time to change, which is obviously untrue and harmful. “He will change” rhetoric harms women often. I think the way the fantasy race and issue of female violence was written was realistic, but I also think that realism is disturbing because of his unwillingness to be harsher in punishment towards males who are literally physically altering these females. It also is somewhat insinuated there is fascism going on because of his obsession with keeping one “good” city safe, and his distaste for the sexist race of warriors and the other city - which he oversees and is in charge of. It is almost like he believes their lives lost causes and something to be used to protect his favorite city and people, which is obviously harmful to the people who do not live in his favorite city because their ruler has abandoned them to harm in belief of culture. Again, this is a fantasy book, I do not believe this to reflect the authors beliefs on feminism or humanitarian efforts, but if you personally are looking for a high-fantasy book with a feminist love interest, this is probably not the one. Lastly, the last book has a topic of mental illness- specifically substance use issues. This book was so difficult to read as a researcher in psychology because of the abuse the protagonist faced and how she got better despite, in real life, this person would likely be far worse off. What I mean by this is the protagonist was unliked due to a disability she had in childhood, inadaptibility which is something that happens in children groomed to be married off (groomed meaning taught to be something very specific, particularly in a way of being sold to the highest bidder and marrying a wealthy male). Her sister took her meaning for life by marrying someone powerful and rich without any of the efforts and grooming which the protagonist faced in childhood, so all her trauma no longer had meaning and she no longer felt any reason to be alive. After this she developed an addiction to alcohol and began sexual risk taking behaviors. What her family did was ridicule and shame her but also enable her with money. Shame results in a cycle of wanting pleasure, so doing this was worsening her behavior. After the family got fed up with her wasting money, instead of setting boundaries and no longer buying alcohol, they threatened her life, took away her autonomy, verbally and emotionally abused her, isolated her, and then the person in charge of helping her developed a sexual relationship with her (which is supposed to be romantic but when she already struggled with risky sexual behaviors, this was taking advantage of her). On top it, a scene occurs where she essentially is noted as suicidal, and instead of helping her he continues to be short, rude, and mean to her and forced her to hike (???). And this was because she pointed out a lie which the whole family was keeping from her sister by her love interest, so the protagonist of this book was being punished for giving information which her sister had a right to know. It is just so incredibly hard to read. Of course, these people do not have psychology or mental wellness, however, I think the part I take most issue with is the unrealistic fact she gets better. Because this is a popular series I would also be concerned with people taking the idea that this sort of behavior towards someone mentally ill is romantic or okay in any way shape or form. This is fantasy, most people know that, but I feel compelled to state it anyway. Overall: I do like the books, I like the writing style, I even do not mind many of the character flaws and the big issues I mentioned occurring, it adds to moral/ethical calamity and makes you question who is the real villain or hero. But, I have seen people stating that this is a more feminist style high fantasy romance and I just wanted to point all the reasons I do not believe that to be the case.

I honestly can’t even describe how great this book series is, I went through every single emotion reading and have never cried and laughed and enjoyed a book so much. I can’t wait for the next three books. A lot of people say that this book series is just a smart series and yes, there is smut in this book series but there’s also a beautiful exciting bad ass story as well that I feel like so many can relate to how real every circumstance is. 100000/10

One of my besties could not stop raving about this series, and I was working my way through my never ending TBR. I finally dove into the series and I was entranced! I have been in my romantasy era for a while now and ACOTAR has the absolute BEST world building I have ever read 🤩 the characters, creatures, and land captivated me from the start! I instantly became invested in the characters and letting the story unfold. ACOTAR took me on an emotional roller coaster. I felt EVERY emotion under the sun. Every tear, laugh, and smile was worth it! I already know I will be rereading this series 📚 Now I need to work my way through Throne of Glass and Crescent City to prepare myself for the 6th and 7th book 💙📖

So ignoring how good the books are (AND THEY ARE AMAZING), I simultaneously love and hate the case that the books come in. All 5 of them are placed inside of a case, but the case is such a tight fit that it was really hard to take any books out and put them back in. After having read all of them, I couldn't squeeze them back into the case, all but 1 of them are in the case now. The Paperback quality of the books are really good. The cover doesn't feel thin and wimpy, it feels strong and smooth. I absolutely loved every book that was in the set (Although I might skip A Court of Frost and Starlight on my next reads since it wasn't adding much to the plot, more of a Christmas special in a way). The storyline was so entertaining and the main couple throughout all 5 books are so relatable. I'm overall thrilled with this purchase, I just wish the case wasn't so tight.

I could NOT put this series down!! It is engaging, entertaining, and overall an amazing series that I would recommend to any who is into romance fantasies. The quality of the books are great, with no typos or damages.

I have never seen myself as a fantasy reader and I have never been able to get into it. But from the moment I picked these books up, I couldn’t put them down. 10/10 recommend.

A phenomenal series – 5 stars easily! First of all, the hardback books themselves were absolutely stunning. They arrived in perfect condition with no damage whatsoever and were really well packaged, so I was incredibly happy with the physical set. But the SERIES… oh my god. 🤩 This was phenomenal. Book 1 completely drew me in, Book 2 was WOW, Book 3 somehow managed to be even better, Book 4 was a little Christmas filler but honestly, it was SO good, and Book 5 was easily my favourite. I was completely invested by the end! The world-building was one of my favourite parts. The descriptions are so incredibly detailed that you can genuinely picture what is being described and completely immerse yourself in the world. It felt so easy to get lost in the story. The characters were also amazing. There are definitely characters you will love 💀 and characters you will absolutely dislike l, if you know, you know!🐺 😂 but the character development throughout the series was done so well. Every character felt like they had their own personality, growth and story, and the descriptions made it so easy to picture them. And the Bat Boys… 🥹 You will fall in love with them and never go back. Honestly, enough said. The plot flows brilliantly and never felt like it was being rushed. The twists were perfectly executed, and there was such a good balance of emotion, romance, action and tension. There were moments where I was shocked, emotional, excited and completely unable to put the book down. Honestly, a 5-star series read without a doubt. If you haven’t read ACOTAR yet, you NEED to! I absolutely understand the hype now. 😂 I am already absolutely buzzing for Books 6 and 7! Please hurry up! 😭📚✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tropes 💖 Enemies to Lovers 💖 Fated Mates 💖 Forced Proximity 💖 Found Family Trust when they say to get through book 1! I read this back at the start of October 2023. The first series I read in the Maas universe. I won’t spoil too much in the series, but it was a whirlwind of a time reading through this! I bought the ebook bundle before the physical copies, and with a bundle, it puts all the books together into one file, so there were no breaks for me! I power read it all within 2 weeks 😂 - This was when Bub was still sleeping for most of the day, so I had plenty of time on my hands! The first book was a mission for me to get through! I didn’t like Tamlin from the get go, so I really couldn’t get into his interactions with Feyre. He gave me the ick, and I was always questioning why he was the main love interest 😅 This series almost became a DNF series for me. ALMOST. I’m so glad I listened to my book besties to keep on going, because the rest of the series made it so worth it. I loved it. The world building was strong. There was a lot of attention to detail to bring in twists together, and it was mind blowing to see it unfold. It’ll make you want to read the series again and again to check the finer details you missed - I did 😅. Feyre’s love relationship was top tier - Loved the banter, and chapter 54 in ACOMAF was where it was at. They were my comfort couple. I loved how powerful they were on their own, and together. It was good to see Sarah branch out to the other characters towards the end. From 3 books on Feyre’s love story, it was a nice change to introduce the lives of the other characters! Nesta and Cassian were 🥵. I definitely want to learn more about Amren, and also Mor! But I’m rooting for the next book to be on Azriel🤞🏼I got a soft spot for him 👉🏼👈🏼
