Easy Install
This was a very good product for installing a handrail to newel posts at the top of my stairs. Instructions were clear enough regarding the marking out of the required holes. I did a practice go on an off cut of the handrail to make sure everything worked out correct. The only thing I would say is that quite a deep 25mm hole is required in the handrail to fit the tightening mechanism so be careful if your handrail is not very deep like mine was - I think it was a 35mm deep hole required. I purchased a 25mm flat drill to do the job but that had a long pilot tip on it which would have broken through the top of the handrail if I went straight to the required depth. Instead I had to start the hole with this, and then switch and use a hole saw (withouth the arbour bit installed) to get the hole to the correct depth. Then it was just a case of chipping out the plug of wood left from inside the rail. Fitting was a little tricky getting the pins aligned with the keyholes on the newels and I also had the spindles in place at the time, so a lot to align. Once everything was together, tightened the fixings and all a sucess. I was a bit wary of overtightening in case I stripped the threads though. Job completed and everything sturdy enough. I'm no carpenter but chuffed with how this all went!
