Bait and switch!
The photos of this grinder on Amazon make it look like the mandala is ceramic or at least laminated. The mandala is literally just a sticker slaped on the grinder. Not only that, but this grinder is the cheapest feeling metal grinder that I've come across. The mesh screen is too big and "pops" in up & down, there are metal shavings, the parts are loose when assembled; overall, just poor quality. I've bought a couple $10 grinders off Amazon before and this one is definitely subpar to those. For example, the 2.5" Chromium Crusher (ASIN B00QMXB36O) is decent quality and currently going for $11.99. I just picked this up from an Amazon Locker (I'm still in my car in the parking lot) and have already initiated the return process.

Very good - for the price
I like this grinder, but but have some qualms with it. First I will mention what I like about it:Finish:I really like the finish; the top print is beautiful, and the grey finish throughout is very nice and it arrived with no scratches. The middle and bottom chambers have a large capacity for a grinder of this size, which is related to one of the "cons" below. The design on the top is in the form of a decal (expected at this price level).Action / Use:Action on this grinder is excellent! Unlike some other grinders the machining provides sufficient clearance that it doesn't need a nylon bushing to maintain clearance between the teeth; in fact it doesn't even come with a bushing/washer! It glides very smoothly, and it shreds herbs very well. There is some fine knurling on both the top and bottom chambers to assist with grip, which is a nice touch, and the magnet holds the lid on surprisingly well. It does a great job grinding the herb, although there is a flaw... see below. The threads engage smoothly with no problems, with no tendency to cross-thread, nor is there any feeling of "galling" that you encounter with poorly-machined threads. The case is slightly taller than some other same-diameter 4-piece grinders, but it is not heavier and it has a larger capacity so that's a win.Cons:First, the holes in the top chamber between the grinding chamber and the herb chamber could stand to be a little smaller. I had ordered this particular grinder for its greater number of teeth, thinking it would work as a finishing grinder. It does grind very well, but the holes between the grinding and middle chamber could stand to be smaller; to grind herb really fine you need to turn the grinder upside down to keep the herb from falling into the chamber, and grind away with the grinder upside down. It does work well but it is a minor annoyance; I had expected that with a large number of grinding teeth that the holes would be a bit smaller to retain the herb until it is finely ground. This does bother me but the workaround is something I'm used to with other grinders (including space case), so it's no big deal. I would like to see them address this though, and I feel compelled to dock a star over this oversight between this and the too-fine screen issue. :(Pollen screen: the screen on this grinder is far too fine. Of course I put a nickle in the herb chamber to help shake pollen through the screen, but it could stand to be a bit more coarse. I forsee having to clean the screen more often than I would have to with other grinders.Lastly, and this is related to the large capacity; the metal is a much thinner gauge than you might expect. This does not negatively impact its function in any way, but when you pick it up and open it, it "sounds" cheap, not entirely unlike sounds you hear from a cheap early 1980s econobox. This does lend to a larger capacity in both the pollen and herb chambers, so it's simultaneously an advantage as well, but if a superficial cheap "feel" matters to you, you might find this bothersome. I find the light weight and increased capacity to be advantages which outweigh a superficial quibble. I'm not docking any stars for this one as this is a purely subjective issue and frankly it doesn't bother me but I felt it worth mentioning to help those who do care about that sort of thing. Conclusion:It grinds well, which is what is important, and can be used as a finishing grinder if you hold it upside down to grind the herb longer, and is very good for the price. The holes between the grinder and herb chamber could stand to be made smaller, and the pollen screen could stand to be more coarse, but for the price... it's quite good. I would not hesitate to buy another if I needed another one.

Not as pictured - top is a sticker
Pretty disappointed in this item. The pictures don’t portray it accurately. Most of the customer images also don’t do it justice. The top is a just a flat sticker. Just received it and you can see the edges starting to wear off. The design probably won’t last long. Also, the coloring is kind of off. It looks like something that got sun damage. I thought it would have more green tones on it. I guess that’s what you get for $12.99 these days? Two stars just because the metal seems like it is fairly good quality.

Worthy Puchase
I adore this grinder. It's heavy and well made. I'm confident this grinder will last a long time. The image on top isn't sharp, but it's timeless. The compartments are spacious and I like that it can be converted for travel to hold more bud. It also collects kief like a champ (don't forget your coin).

Awesome grinder. Not "awesome grinder for the price." This thing rocks.
This grinder is really nice. The design is super dope and the grind is wayyy smoother than my old one. Seriously, my buds are shredded in like 5 turns. The finish on the sides is a really nice chrome, and the design on top feels solid and durable. I was worried it might be a cheap sticker, but it's attached with some kind of epoxy that's really solid. My only gripe is that I found a few metal shavings when I first opened it up. Just be VERY thorough when you get it and the first few times you use it. Other than that (minor) gripe this is an excellent deal and highly recommended.

What a bargain!
This is a value for $9. I grind miscellaneous herbs and bought this to replace a broken one. I chose this grinder for 4 reasons - function, quality, looks and price.Function - my old grinder was a small, metal one like this but with a handle on top (which you turn to grind). The handle broke on my old one, which is why I chose this simple one. Since you manually turn it and there is no handle to break.Quality - there is a good weight to this grinder, it feels substantial for its size. There is a strong magnet that holds the top 2 parts (grinding compartment) together, which I like a lot. It is completely manual, so no parts to break.Looks - this was my smallest requirement, as it’s a plus but not necessary. I love mandalas and thought it looked cute. The mandala is basically a sticker, it’s not hand painted or anything. Please remember this is a $9 item, a fancy design would call for higher cost. The sticker is fine with me.Cost - a product that works for under $10 is a great thing. How does it work? You drop in your herbs, close, and turn as you would a pepper mill. Then, unscrew the compartment below for a finely ground end product. It’s very simple.I am very happy with it so far and I expect it to last a long time.
