This is a handy item to add to the kitchen it has helped me out a few times,when the oven hob broke I used this while the cooker was replaced..,it has not let me down yet.it does get very very hot though ! I'd be cautious about leaving it unsupervised .

Bought this item for a temporary use if needed. After few use after 1 month the large hot plate split to 2. Also if used for few minutes the base gets extremely hot and can't be touched so you will need to wait 15-20 mins before you could move or touch it. It looks like the internal insulation is not a very good one. In less than 2 months the element of the large split plate blew up and stopped working. Waist of money.

A simple but effective hotplate. Easy to cook on, heats quickly and easy to clean, no complaints.

Update: Lasted 5 months total before failure.Original review: The machine appears to have been manufactured skewed, or has a misplaced foot by 3-4 mm or so meaning it can't stand up properly without putting something under the bad foot. It's hard to tell which from a casual inspection, but it's appears to be more than the position of the cheap rubber feet on the machine which could easily have been misplaced. It's quite an amazing mistake.My experience of these hot plates from amazon is they last a couple of years and then completely fail. The first sign of failure is getting hot but not getting up to sufficient temperature anymore. This one may be showing these signs after a couple of weeks.Unfortunately these single units are specialist items you can't just buy in a regular store so you have to get them online if you need one.

Bought this for camping with the kids and it’s ideal. Sturdy, well made and not too heavy to carry about.I’d recommend it to anyone.

I bought this induction hotplate to reduce the cost of cooking with gas. It takes longer to heat up and cool down but I have got used to it and adjusted cooking times now. I knocked a star off due to the red light that comes on when the dial is turned to MAX but turns off at lower heat settings. Without the red light staying on at lower heat settings, I have not always turned the dial to MIN to switch the hotplate off and a couple of times I left it on for hours by mistake. Apart from that, it's a good mini cooker and I can just plug it into an ordinary wall socket in my kitchen.
