Does this come with written instructions?

melt candle wax in double boiler. Don't use the inside pan for food afterwards! Only use for candle making. When wax is liquid, put in the candle wick and use the sticks with hole for wick to lay across the candle jar. This keeps wick in center. let the candle cool and solidify. Candle is made! cut the wick down to about 1/8th inch to light and use.! Your welcome!

The picture says a wick length of 8'; and the description says 6". Which is correct?

About 6". It also includes some craft sticks that have a hole in the middle for steadying wick and a little sticky stuff to steady the wick. I love it and it works perfect for my candlemaking

what is the burn time for these wicks?

Several days depending on how deep your candle is. For votive, maybe 3-4 hours; for large candles (days). The above depends on how long you burn your candles. I also have a wick cutter to trim my candles as they burn down. Hope this helps!
