Another Gripping Page Turner
Keri Kerin Part Two (the fourth in the author's autobiography) picks up where Keri has just moved into a shared home under the watchful eye of strict Mrs Watson who wakes Keri and her room mate at some ungodly hour with a cup of tea and also stands with a wristwatch in the doorway at 10 pm, waiting to lock and bolt the door whether tenants are home or not. Keri meets Paddy, the jocular Irishman, who she forms a close bond with along with his girlfriend Cora and the others in their social circle. Keri gets herself a new job at Petters Engineering, after Paddy puts in a good word for her, where she is given a lot more responsibility and proves her worth. But the new job isn't without its problems. It causes cracks and rifts in her relationship with Vince who becomes insecure and jealous of her bettering herself. On the home front, her Nana isn't best pleased either and the appearance of her mother always spells trouble. We see that underneath it all, Keri's unreedmable mother is actually jealous of Keri's success and will do all in he powers to belittle and undermine Keri by interfering in her life and her job, and yet somehow always managing to make it look as if Keri is the one at fault. Fortunately for Keri, her new boss, Harry, isn't taken in by Keri's mother and sides with Keri. Unfortunately though, there is more heartbreak for Keri, when another young man - a Brian Connolly lookalike, also called Brian - rapes Keri, affecting her relationship with Vince. There are further woes from her mother and her accommodation is infested with mice. Keri gets thrown out of her accommodation and is found somewhere with a much nicer and less restrictive landlady and where the place is immaculate but because of her past experiences and trauma, Keri is unable to sleep alone and so stays up late at night with another of the tenants, smoking and playing cards, until she falls asleep in the armchair in the residents lounge. Eventually she gets chucked out of here too when the landlady discovers Vince has stayed the night. Social Services then arrange for Keri to be sent back to Norman Lodge where it is safe and familiar. At 17, Keri is on the cusp of adulthood and even though she's had to deal with things that no young person should have to deal with, in many ways, she is still treated as a child by the powers that be.This fourth part of the author's autobiography is a gripping page-turner as all the others. The author has a special talent for capturing the authenticity of the times as well as being a gifted writer in her own right.Just one small technical thing - there were no page numbers in my paperback copy!

Books1 2 & 3
I have read all 3 books and all been so gripping. Keri Karin has written the books so well. Sad to remember whilst reading that these are true facts and actually happened to Keri Karin. Fear, courage and damned right frightened at times. Why her books are so cheap I don't know as her story is one of the most gripping stories I have read. Will definitely be buying the continuing story when it is released in Spring.

Getting angry
I honestly don't know why some people have children if they don't want to look after them,I have been reading these books over a few days and I would love to meet this author's mother. I hope Kat is very happy now with her children, has made lots and lots of money and visits her aged mother and really rubs it in how happy she is despite of her nasty mumWith very best wishesChristine

Just couldn't put this book down
I had been eagerly awaiting the next part to Kat's story and it was so worth the wait. Now at 17 her shocking story continues, trying to do all the right things and landing herself a good job and life still runs tough for Keri. Her mother continues to do all she can to control Keri truly shocking. I just couldn't put this down. Kat must be a remarkably strong woman to have got through what she has. Eagerly awaiting the next part hopefully in the spring.

On the plus side I find the books are well written and with a good choice of vocabulary
As in Keri Part One, for me, there is too much irrelevant detail. However, I did feel a compulsion to read further & therefore I am now part way through Part Five! On the plus side I find the books are well written and with a good choice of vocabulary.

Excellent book
I read the first book and enjoyed it opens your eyes to what was going on in childrens homes and how cruel they were treated. Keri was never wanted by her mother so she was put in various homes throughout her childhood. This book is about Keri when she is old enough to leave and be independant but that was never going to happen as long as her mother had her way.

Awesome
I really thoroughly enjoy reading these books, I can't wait for the next one. It feels a bit wrong saying that, to read all that you have been through and how you cope you really are an inspiration. I've just bought your other available book about bowel cancer, I'm hoping your next keri book will be ready when I've finished that one.

what can I say?
Having read the first book which I have read twice, I couldn't wait for this one to come out, I found myself entirely engrossed in Keri's shocking life story, I have had tears in my eyes in a lot of places, and laughing at some of thr antics she got up to. I would definitely recommend this book, but you need to read the first one to follow her on this incrediblejourney of survival.
