BaByliss Pro Double-Foil Cordless Shaver Delivers Impressive Results!
I visit a barbershop twice a month to have my beard shaped and my hair trimmed down, as I like a tight-cropped beard that looks neat. Even though it’s called a barbershop, my stylist uses trimmers, not straight-edge blades. Nonetheless, I was delighted with the results of the beard trim as I am only marginally good at maintaining my beard lines as sharp as I like them. I did not know there was an improved way of retaining a closely cropped beard since I am a neophyte to having a beard. I have been going for a beard trim for about six months and always see the same stylist. However, I had an interview last week, and I needed an unscheduled beard trim beforehand. My stylist was not working, so I reluctantly had to go with another stylist. Well, it turned out to be fortuitous because after this new stylist had trimmed my beard and I thought he was finished, he surprised me by pulling out a silver device that my other stylist had never used on me. I asked what the device was, and he explained that it was a double-foil shaver he used to obtain a super smooth finish on his client’s skin as the last step in the beard trim process. I was intrigued. Remember, my beard hair is cut and shaped with trimmers, not a blade, so the results are typically still good, but my face skin is not smooth. The stylist started going over my skin with the shaver, and I could see that this double-foil shaver was smoothly moving across my skin without a hint of resistance, leaving in its wake skin free of any trace of even the tiniest hair I could see. The stylist also ran the shaver over my beard hair to remove small hairs that might still be present. This worked fine and did not remove any excessive hair that I feared might have happened. After he finished with the shaver, I felt my skin; it was baby-smooth soft. It was clear that using a double foil shaver made for a superior beard trim. Naturally, I inquired about the shaver and asked if I could buy it on Amazon. The stylist said absolutely, and he found the BaByliss single—and double-foil shavers on Amazon. He told me I would be good with the single-foil shaver, which cost about $100.00. The idea of using a cordless shaver on my sensitive face and neck skin seemingly without irritating and achieving an impressive baby-soft skin result had me sold on the spot. Instead of shaving my skin with my Harry’s razor blade, which did not produce the best results because of my skill set, I could use this shaver on my dry skin and get impressive results. When I returned home, I jumped on the Amazon app and pulled up the BaByliss shavers, the stylist-recommended brand. I saw both the single-foiled and double-foiled shavers. I had intended to buy the single-foiled shaver, but the stylist had been using the double-foiled version, and I was impressed with how that performed, so I opted to buy the double-foiled shaver. It was barely $40.00 more than the single-foiled version, so it was a relatively easy decision. The BaByliss Pro shaver arrived at my front door two days later. I immediately pulled it out of the box and set it up for a full charge, completed within three hours. As I had two days' worth of new beard hair growth on my face, I wanted to try it out, but I was not sure how it would perform because I had more hair on my face than when the stylist used the shaver on me. Nevertheless, the double-foil shaver performed admirably, and I was able to achieve the same baby-soft skin on my face; however, with the hair on my neck, I likely did not have the right angle, or I went with the grain of the hair instead of going against it that the manual recommended. Afterward, my neck skin was red and irritated, enough so that I had to apply moisturizer on it because it stung. That aside, the shaver had done its job well, and I had no noticeable hair on my neck or around where my beard had ended. By the evening, after another application of moisturizer to my neck, my irritated skin had calmed down and was not red anymore. But I will be more careful with my neck shaving tomorrow. I am confident that I can achieve favorable results without irritating my skin because the stylist did not irritate my neck skin when he used the shaver. I hesitated to run the shaver over my beard hair, the part I wanted to keep. I was using the stylist's exact shaver, but I fear that if I ran the shaver onto my beard directly, it might take a big chunk of hair, which would be a disaster. So, I will wait until my next beard trim appointment and confirm that I can do this without fear of removing too much beard hair. In closing, I highly recommend the double-foiled BaByliss Pro shaver. It may seem a tad expensive, at approximately $140.00, but it is far easier to handle than a razor blade to remove daily or every other day regrowth. The double-foiled shaver is undoubtedly easier to navigate on my face, and I can achieve results almost as good as a professional beard trim. I will likely still obtain a professional beard trim once a month instead of my current twice-monthly visits. If I go only once a month instead of twice, with the money saved on one fewer visit a month, I can pay off the cost of the shaver entirely in about six months. If you want to make fast work of your shaving routine, whatever it may be, this double-foiled shaver will deliver impressive results. If you are still trying to decide, I suggest you order and try the BaByliss Pro FoilFX02 shaver. In the worst case, you do not think it delivers better results than shaving with a razor, or however you maintain your beard, you can easily return it for a full refund. In the best case scenario, and the more likely outcome, you have found a fantastic double-foil shaver that will make your shaving routine easier, and who cannot get behind making their shaving routine quicker and better?

Babyliss Pro is a quality Balding Foil shaver
This will be long, so please bear with me. I was gifted an andis foil shaver 5 year ago. My previous barber used one to bald my head, so obviously I was thrilled to be gifted one. Probably 2 years in, maybe less, the head broke. It snaps on & off, just like the Babyliss Pro. Difference is the andis is an all plastic shaver. The Babyliss is all metal. So, like I said, the snap on head of my andis broke in such a way that I had to use tape on the side to secure it tight. I did this for the balance of the years I used my andis. Till it would no longer hold more than a 10 minute charge. I wrestled at this point. Buy another andis or bite the bullet a get a professional balder-the Babyliss Pro. What my current & beloved barber recommended. An andis is $60 or so. The Babyliss Pro on Black Friday sale wax $119. The andis is an all plastic unit. The Babyliss Pro is constructed of metal. I did my research. Literally comparing the two head to head. What I found is this. The andis is a good, cheaper alternative. Requires more passes to get the job done. Its main issue is being is plastic construction, but it’s light weight. The Babyliss Pro requires fewer passes, but is hefty in weight due to its metal construction. Now, I’ve had the cheaper andis & bought the superior Babyliss. Used it tonight after charger for the required 3 hours before first use. My head baby butt smooth. Not kidding. My andis never did that. Ever. My thought process was this. I know what the andis will deliver. I have till 1/31/26 use & test my Babyliss & still return for a full refund. Based upon tonights shave that won’t be happening. There is one thing they both are & that noisy. Sleeping spouses will not like that. So, bald your head respectfully. I did buy the Asurion cover for 3 years & Babyliss provides 2 years which I didn’t know. So, that’s 5 years of warranty. Not too shabby. I expect that long of them-Babyliss or Asurion will kick in. And, I’ll have a new or fixed unit. I feel my money is well spent. If a man is gonna bald his head. Bald it with a quality foil shaver. Pictured attached showing my taped andis & my new Babyliss.

Why didn't I buy this sooner?
First of all, I've been a safety/cartridge razor bald guy preacher for years. Shaving with cream etc with a razor is very time-consuming, it can get messy etc. I've tried Norelco and other brands and saw barbers on youtube swear by this thing and lo and behold it's a bit pricey, however, it's still cheaper than Braun 9 which has a ridiculous price tag for my needs. All of the rotary blades I tested like some of the Norelcos or old Phillips were not as great in my opinion. This little thing is literally almost as close as a razor blade with less irritation which is great since I have sensitive skin. I will keep an eye close on the durability department in the long term, but in the short term, this is way better than those cheap Flex skull shavers. Worth the investment for me. If this lasts at least 3 years (which it seems it's longer according to the owners) I would consider myself happy. OH, this is not meant to remove long hair or heavy stubble. If you haven't shaved in more than 5 days I would recommend using a clipper first, but this does a magnificent job if you haven't shaved in like 2-3 days. Verdict: the closest electric thing to a razor blade. I'm shocked by the results. I wasn't expecting a close shave at all on my head. I strongly suggest to start with a clean shave for best results.

This works SO WELL!!
A M A Z I N G !!!!! I’ve been using my hair clippers without a guard, but saw this posted on Reddit on barbers subreddit so I thought I’d give them a go! I would almost argue it’s better than a razor blade shave. Incredible. Now I have to learn to clean them so I make them last 😂

Great shaver!
I purchased this in August 2024 as my barber was used it on me. I primarily use this to shave my head and can do it in 5 minutes. I find it easy to use and easy to clean. One charge will last me about 4-5 shaves.

Close shave
Normally I use safety razors to shave but I wanted to try an electric razor. My barber recommended this one and I really like it. Easy to clean and I get a close comfortable shave. I usually have to use it every other day or every three days. it has trouble getting the longer hairs.

Great shaver with 1 flaw.
I have only had this shaver for about 5 days now and I am totally in love with it 100%. It gives me the best shave I have ever had in my life and that is no exaggeration of any type. This isn't the most expensive shaver I've used, but it is the newest tech, and first foil type I've ever used, the most expensive I've used was a norelco rotary type of close to $400.00 that when used properly still left me with bad irritation and razor bumps. This one leaves nothing but smooth shiny skin, which I very importantly add is likely highly ranked amongst the highest of the sensitive skinned shaver people that are here browsing. My skin is horrible! I can't use straight razors disposable or better quality or obviously rotary style electric shavers. I've seen many countless dermatologists and prescribed countless amounts and types of corticosteroids I believe they're called to keep down the redness, itchiness and swelling. But nothing with this on still after the 5th day in a row of daily shaving. Near straight razor closeness of daily shaving at that. This is beautiful too! I bought the blue one which is quite nice to me, if there was a nice Forrest green I would have been sold months ago! But if there is a new option any time soon((wink, wink BaByliss)) I will gladly immediately by a second one... I guess for the other hand. Lol. But these are just gorgeous! And heavy, my gosh the quality it speaks of. Like nothing but good stuff used inside except for the battery that is of course. Skimped on the battery, but why BaByliss? More on that later... Even the cap feel cold and metal. It cleans very easily. Each time I'm done shaving, I take the head off(simple press of button and pull off top) then blow out loose hair that has deposited on bottom of shaver and on blades and reassemble head, matching the two sides once again. Only goes together one way. I wish there were instructions on how to oil it though. The instructions are perfect and very useful except for that. The power is very adequate and of course you can run it corded if the battery ever fails. And as mentioned about the battery... These batteries are mentioned in the Metal 2 series as being Lithium Ion and in my instructions it clearly says it is a Ni Mh which is a much inferior and less long lasting battery as far as durable and battery hours in a day. The Nickel Metal Hydrade battery from cell phone's past and of course of gadgets too. They aren't all that bad and may be more powerful, but are cheaper and less long lasting in the long run. But they say a good quality Lithium Ion battery is just as safe and will out last it by a long ways. So I feel cheated by the literature provided which will likely change... By the way, the noise level is like that of a hand sander or maybe smaller sized router(the electric wood working tool). It is something to get used to and can be quite much for some sensitive ears and I'd definitely pass I'd you fit the sensitive hearing category because it is indeed loud in that case. It comes with a sticker that says the company name and Pro. Then a small cheap cloth bag, I was at least hoping for a felt lined one or maybe a microfiber one you could wipe the shaver with as these are fingerprint magnets and look beautiful if you take a little extra time and wipe them off before putting them away. It also comes with a nice and heavy weighted charging cord which I think is semi-custom to shavers at least. Not USB-C at least or any other computer type for traveling is what I mean. But that's all I can think of for including in writing. I am kind of harsh on stars because of the battery alone as I think it is very misleading! And it is a very big price difference too from competitors that do actually use Lithium Ion batteries. But I do love this shaver and with a better battery or something it'd get better stars. I might change my rating with use too. Thank you for reading, Erin V :-)
