Also known as Negronne, Violet de Bordeaux is a purplish black fruit with rich strawberry pulp. Considered by many the finest tasting fig. Popular in the Northwest and West. Needs protection in cold winter areas. Good for home planting as tree is dwarf. Similar fruit to Black Mission, but hardier and a smaller size tree than Mission. Fruit ripens later than Hardy Chicago, Marseilles and Celeste. Closed eye. Space 8' circle. Zones 7b 9.

Great value and plants
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: I got figs my first year! So excited and can’t wait to try them.I got these plants about a year ago and when I opened the package, I saw 6 tiny little plants (I think each fig tree was about 2 inches tall at most). My first reaction was that the 6 plants would not make it due to the plants coming in such small size and barely had their root system grown in yet. I decided to wait to leave a review due to this reason. About 11 months later and these plants are thriving! I gave 3 plants away to neighbors and friends and kept 3 of them. I currently have them in 8 in pots because they had outgrown their 6 inch pots. I live in Zone 6 so I will be bringing them inside for the winter. The plants are still young so I will not see any figs this year, but cannot wait to see if they produce figs next year. I would highly recommend this seller. I think any negative review is due to not understanding that plants go through shock during transfer and being confined in a box without any light, as well as to simple matters of not understanding how to care for fig trees. It takes time but I think with any plants, it always takes some time and patience and care to see anything thrive

Company didn't respond to issue
When I got these they are so small I am letting them grow and get stronger inside b4 being moved outside. Anyways after about a week I put them in a window of mine and 3 of the 4 I bought, the leaves wilted and fell off. So I wrote the company about this and what are the care recommendations. I have heard absolutely nothing back from them.

Small but healthy
My Violetta de Bordeaux fig trees arrived well packaged and healthy. They were very small but vigorous and healthy, 4 months after purchase all 4 trees are thriving , good value for money.

so far, so good
Just got my seedlings a month or so ago, so how well they will do remains to be seen. Love this seller as everything else I've bought has been successful. Right now, have planted seedlings in 4" pots to establish good roots and acclimatize to my yard and they are looking good. We are expecting a hot summer, so will set up some shade for them before transplant as well as arrange for deep watering too***it is now May of 2022. All plants in 5 gallon pots, at least 2' tall and gifting 2 of them. Will plant in ground this fall.

Plant Labels Included for Gift Giving
As a gardener I appreciate the value of getting extra plants to share with my friends. Hello Organics includes planting labels that make them easy to give as gifts. All the fig trees have been growing superbly and are ready for their third upsizing of pots.

order was for 4 fig plants
The order was for 4 fig plants. As can be seen in the attached photos, 2 of the plants were in very bad shape. 1 was broken just above the root bulb and the other was all but dead. The other 2 plants appear to be in good shape; hopefully they will thrive. I do not have much faith in the other 2.Well 1 of the remaining 2 has now died. Reducing my rating to 1 star.
