Negative review is not reflective of my experience
I had hesitation in purchasing this bench due to the review of BBA. I even had my sister who cared for our mother post-stroke read all the reviews and give me her opinion before I ordered the bench to help me with my 6’6”, 239 pd husband. We both felt it was worth the chance if it could lend some degree of safety for my husband and me (5’1”). He is in his 70s and has just finished 3 weeks in a rehab facility after breaking his femur.Well, I just finished assisting my hubby with his first shower using the chair/tub bench. We did not experience any of the problems expressed or feared by BBA. The chair was stable, moved back and forth easily and I was able to get to each area of his body to ensure cleanliness. He was somewhat apprehensive initially but, after we were done, he stated this bench was the best item I have purchased to help him!I will emphasize you need to measure accurately so you get the best results. Oh, and it only took me 30 minutes to assemble.

Risk of not fitting, and losing half of your money!
I bought it with excitement for my parents as it is a genuine idea, and as a design engineer myself, when I put it together it really looked awesome and well built. When I tried to fit it in place, I just realized several problems. When you slide the seat all the way over the tub, about 20% of it is still outside the tub, meaning the when showring, so much water will go outside the tub. The seat dimensions are listed on the product description, but you do not realize how small the seat opening is till you see it. It is the size of a toddler trainer. An elderly person sitting on it must only do #1 or #2, and if you do both, some mess will go over the seat. The tracks under the openings are visible so, unless your droppings go straight down, they will hit the track, and if you slide the seat, the mess is all over. With all of these issues my parents' caregiver told me it would be easier for her to lift my parents over the tub rather than cleaning such a mess. So, we never used it, and we put together back in its original box like never opened. The company agreed to take back with 15% restocking and I pray for return shipping which is about $90. So basically you barely get half of your money back. I argued on the phone, but no hope. I decided to keep the unit and use some parts of it for another project I am working on.So once you buy this product, you are taking the chance to lose half of your money if it does not fit, provided that you never use it. If there is a sign that it is used, they will not refund you any, which means not only you lost the purchase price, but you also lose additional $90 for the return shipping. The conclusion, the product is a great idea and well-built if it fits over your tub and under your bottom. If it does not fit, the company’s no-return policy makes you lose your money. If I have time again, I will put it up again and takes photos of the problems.

Best shower chair ever
This shower bench is wonderful! Although it’s meant to be toilet to tub, I use it to get my husband who had advanced Parkinson’s into our double shower. I removed the bypass doors & installed a curtain. My husband is no longer mobile so can’t even step inside the lip of the shower, but can still transfer, so I put his wheelchair at 90d from shower chair to transfer & slide him into shower. The hole in seat I use to more easily clean his private areas. When done I just slide him back outside the shower & transfer back into wheelchair. So easy peasy I can do it all myself as he doesn’t want his caregiver bathing him. This does take up a lot of space in bathroom & if needs help bathing may require a large shower to work. Make sure you measure your space to make sure it will fit & work in your bathroom.

non returnable if you open shipping carton!!!
Arrives with green sticker that says no returns if opened. So order page is incorrect on returns. It worked with a 1 1/2 inch foam kneeling pad under outside legs because they weren't long enough. We have a long fiberglass shower with a step in that had glass shower doors I removed. Works good with room outside shower for lift to seat my mom. Looks sturdy haven't used it yet. easy to assemble. Also bought separate shower seat cushion because this one is hard gray plastic.

Best option instead of remodeling the bathroom
Wonderful product for those who have a step over tub, but lack the mobility to step over the tub edge. It was pretty easy to set up, just make sure when you assemble that the horizontal top bars have the locking nubs on the correct side or the red locks will not work. It would have been easier if it came with assembly instructions. We also purchased the accessory handles for the seat. If you have decreased leg strength, the handles help with sitting. The glides are really smooth and very easy to move. The seat is very stable. The hole in the shower chair gives you easy access to wash all parts of the body. I would also recommend buying a new shower curtain and cutting two vertical slits to accommodate the chair rails. The slanted rubber feet allow it to sit flat if you have curved bottom edges on your bath tub. If the seat does not line up perfectly with the toilet, there is a small hole in the front of plastic chair where you can see the metal under rail while seated. I put a nail polish dot on the metal rail so that it can be visually lined up with the hole in the chair while you are seated. Works like a level dot so you know where you are in relation to the toilet.

Loved it!!!
I purchased this for my paraplegic husband who is 6’4” 300lbs. this chair has been by far the best we’ve had for him to transfer into the shower with! It’s pretty stable and the seat is a nice comfortable size. My husband felt comfortable and safe using it!!! And it was easy to assemble!

Good, not Great
Love the length and the sliding, wish the chair turned and when using water comes out along the sliding part of chair out of shower onto the floor. Have to raise the entrance part higher so now individual sits at a slight slant..
