Bright
This little magnetic light is perfect for my grill. For those times when I don't get grilling until the sun has started to set, this comes in handy. Where our grill is we have no extra lighting so in the past I either had to make sure I started early enough not to miss the light, or I had to bring out a flashlight and make the most of it. With the magnetic light I don't have to worry about my timing anymore. It's bright handy and works exactly as advertised.

Extremely hard to change batteries
This is a magnetic-mount battery-operated LED flashlight on a plastic tensor arm. Fully extended, the arm measures 11” long. The light is 2 ½” in diameter and 1 ¼” thick. The base is similarly 2 ½” in diameter. With the tensor arms folded, the light is 7 ½” long and 2 ½” wide. The tensor arm has 2 sections, the first of which is 5” long and the second is 4” long. The tensor arms are connected with plastic ratcheting pivots that will fold flat and open to about 110 degrees. The head is on a round pivot that will turn 360 degrees horizontally. There is a magnet in the base that will hold the light firmly if placed on a fully metal flat surface such as a grill, a shelf, a metal case, etc. The on/off switch for the light is a button placed in the front center of the light. The light is powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included). The battery compartment is inside the light head and is accessed via 4 tiny Phillips head screws. The light is not waterproof. The Cuisinart logo appears printed across the base. The product was made in China. This is a useful light both for our grill and at our basement workbench. It mounts securely onto metal surfaces and extends easily to put light where we need it. Once placed on metal, the mount is secure, and the light does not droop. I found the battery compartment extremely difficult to open, however. First, you have to find a tiny jeweler’s or computer repair Phillips head screwdriver. Then you have to unscrew the 4 screws that are located out of sight down ¼-½” screw wells, and the screws are over ¼” long. Because the screws are out of sight, it’s hard to tell when they are loose enough to access the batteries. When I finally got the screws loose enough and opened the light, one of the screws was still inside the screw well and went flying when I turned the light over. I still haven’t found it. At least the light still works with only 3 screws holding it together instead of 4, even if the head is open a little on the side. Getting the screws back in once you put batteries in is similarly challenging since the screw wells are so long and the screws are out of sight. I’ve worked on many computer components that are much easier to manage than this. Out of the package, the screw that holds the magnet on the base was very loose and falling out. You can see the bottom of the screw through the base—it doesn’t look like the plastic base is thick enough to hold that screw securely. The ratchets on the tensor arms also don’t feel very heavy duty—I don’t expect them to last long. Overall, this is a useful bright light that mounts well on metal surfaces, but it doesn’t feel like it was built to last and changing batteries is extremely difficult.

Powerful Magnet, Difficult To Change Batteries
One would expect more from a product bearing the Cuisinart name.Pros: the magnet is super strong. REALLY strong. It'll stick to your grill. It'll stick to your car. (Be aware, if you are a musician, that it will NOT stick to a metal music stand.)Cons: the magnet base of the one I have is not securely attached to the arm. It separated as soon as I removed it from the package - arm and light in one hand, magnetic base in the other. I don't know whether it is supposed to be removable, or whether this is a flaw. I DO know that, without the arm, the magnet is almost impossible to remove from the surface its attached to.The light isn't waterproof. To install the batteries (not included), one must remove four TINY screws which are DEEPLY set. That, for me, will require a special screwdriver which I do not currently own. Therefore, I cannot speak to the brightness of the light, as I have to purchase an additional item in order to get the batteries in to try it out.Which begs the question: when you are in the middle of grilling food... if the batteries die, do you want to have to go through all that work to change them? Using a special screwdriver, to unscrew four tiny screws, in a dark place (if it wasn't dark, you wouldn't need the light), outdoors on a deck or grassy surface?A sliding cap would have been much more practical. It feels like something you'd get from the dollar store, not something you'd expect from Cuisinart.

Good light, ok positioning
The light on this is pretty bright for its size. The single button in easy to use, since it's right on the light. The magnet holds it well in any position. The only drawback for me was the positioning itself. It's decent, but you have to kind of "click" it into place and it can get a bit top-heavy if you need to extend it far over an edge. For a grill it's good when clipped to the shelf next to the grill. It's tall enough to be able to cast light onto the grates. For my smoker, I place it on the top, extend it over the front so that it shines light in through the window. Both work pretty well. It doesn't cast an extremely wide beam, so it's not like you see the whole surface of the grill or racks of the smoker, but it's fine for being able to see what you're doing and checking general done-ness. I've kept it outside in the cabinet (so no rain gets to it) of my grill year round, and it's working fine.
