Wild Horses had the pedigree to die for, tracing their lineage directly to Rainbow and Thin Lizzy, two of the most iconic hard rock acts in the history of the genre. In guitarist Brian Robertson and bassist/vocalist Jimmy Bain, they had a hard drinking, hard rocking heart and soul. Naturally, the land of the rising sun took Wild Horses to it's heart in much the same way it had fallen head over heels for the band's illustrious parents and thus the band found themselves in Tokyo in October of 1980 in promotion of their second album. And the rest, as they say.... Recently discovered, this recording shows the band at the peak of it's powers in front of a very! - adoring audience. Come back with us in time that magical evening....

Great live show!
This release may or may not be legitimate, judging by the lack of any liner notes, but its an entertaining listen nevertheless. Former Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian "Robbo" Robertson and former Rainbow bassist Jimmy Bain paired up for a helluva band from late 1978 to 1982. I had read all the reviews about their "poor man's Thin Lizzy" sound and shambolic live performances but I don't believe a word! I love the 2 albums they did (especially the first album) and I had listened to this show from Japan online. The sound isn't bad at all even if it isn't technically perfect. I'm happy to add this to my CD collection. Play it loud!
