Does it come with a case or anything to protect the probe?

Yes, every Deltatrak I've ever purchased (and I have purchased several over the years) comes with a sleeve to protect the probe.

Does it have a back light for dark areas.?

Nope! Just took it into the other room with no light, couldn't see a thing. But it is a great thermometer!

Has anyone experienced a top reading of 129.4? Unless the water temp. is very hot (+140F) it will peg at 129.4. I have 2 (11063) that do this.

I use mine every day, I have temps from 120 to 169 degrees. Mostly my temps are in the 125 to 150 range. I've not yet in over a year of use experienced a lock up. Have you tried a reset of the unit? If so it may be a problem with your unit.
